This kind of thing is getting out of hand! I would really like to know how all of this is going to end? Eventually we will be forced inside. Oh sh!t I forgot... that's the agenda. Stay home and do nothing. Then the Environment will be safe from us. Absolute BS!

Stay home and play video games I guess?! Hopefully they make a sweet Backcountry Mountain Riding video game with all the "Best Ole" sledding areas you can't physically ride any longer. 🤪

That’s awesome, thanks a lot

Word is they will deactivate this road first, close Foggy Day, then keep moving along the mountain range shutting down all the zones

Tina is a pain In Our ass down here. she continues to head her own crusade. someone will mob a small hoe in and undo that work. I’ll find out which contractor is doing the work. She tried this crap in 9 mile (alpine) and I stirred the pot enough so now we have access again.
she was in there 2 yrs ago with her roll of ribbon, I’ll also ask our DM in Kootaney lake office.

Her name is all over it
Originally they were supposed to leave ATV access if they closed the road. Then they decided not to

Few years ago they were supposed to leave 4x4 access to an internet repeater in the area. Some of the water bars they dug were 10-15 feet deep!

We have a pretty successful pilot project with some collared caribou and staying out of the valley where they are located. CO’s saw zero tracks where the caribou were, last I heard (mid winter), and were very impressed

BOOM!!! you think this is the end. This is a new sign up at the Incomappleux FSR, great summer recreation up here and now its jail time for accessing crown land. Ministry people (2 to be exact) in the Selkirk office are writing legislation that could become the standard for the province. You don't need to worry about caribou closures now... its a new front you need to be concerned about. ACCESS@!!!

Not sure how this effects the logging community either but could be a giant cash grab as when someone 'audits' a roads condition to this
effect it may cost a lot to restore it. Im aware that this area has not seen logging activite for a long time. I believe the Valhalla group of greenies are really pushing these closures in this area. They are mostly concerned about the old growth forest (couple 4-5ft wide trees identified) being logged out. Don't blame them, but closing a area basically from everyone is just not right.

Here’s some more info from Kootenay Dualsport

It’s 4-5 people, with that “engineer” who says that the roads NEED to be deactivated

Just to give you guys a quick note, we had some information passed onto us that the same Engineer in the Ministry named Mike Ferguson who is getting his jollies going around and shutting down and “deactivating” these old Forest Service Roads has now taken a run at the Columbia and Western Rail Grade. They tell us he has tried to condem and shut down the Bulldog Tunnel last week for no reason other than he does not want the Ministry and his engineering department to have to assume responsibility.

The BC Timber Sales staff are actually fighting him, trying to keep the Tunnel open for everyone and have allocated BCTS funding to do an independent engineering report on the tunnel and prove him wrong. (A very special thanks to the BCTS staff for standing up to this jerk, and wanting a good relationship with all the public)

We were also told Mike was standing on the McCormack trestle stoping and telling the residents and quaders that the trestles are only certified for a bicycle according to his engineering bible.

(allthough he can’t explain how Interfor found an Engineers plate welded on the side of one of the trestles confirming it certified for a train until 2040.)

From what we were told, the Regional Executive at the Ministry has gotten involved and refused to shut the Bulldog Tunnel down in the meantime, citing political pressure and probable fear of Katrine Conroy.

This is the same guy trying to shut the Rady FSR down in Trout Lake and about 5 other FSR roads also on his agenda. The rest of the Ministry staff are disgusted with him, it’s pretty common knowledge in the Ministry’s offices that he gets off on his jollies poking someone in the eye, and cutting the public off wherever he can on a power trip.

What they have on their hands is an HR problem in the Selkirk office. ATVBC and the rest of the Recreation organizations can’t understand why this “deactivation” issue is only in the Selkirk District office and not going on anywhere else in the Province. (Because they don’t have a government bureaucrat running around poking everyone in the eye)

The big question is, why is the District Managwr allowing these malfeasant staff to operate like this?

It seems like every-time this comes up somewhere, unless a pile of people write in and lobby the Minister to halt the BS, it’s doesn’tseem to stop. In fact the other Ministry staff tell us, it’s just a game of dancing around a few land mines, and hope Katrina Conroy doesn’t notice or find out, so they can get away with it.

An even bigger question is, why doesn’t the upper Ministry step in and clean these malfeasant bureaucrats right out one and for all.

If it’s not Rady Creek FSR or the Columbia and Western Rail Grade, sure as hell it will be something else not far down the road.

What some very, very, very good Ministry staff are saying, is that everyone should be writing into Katrine Conroy and asking her to sharpen up the axe and clean these 3-4 private agenda bureaucrats right out permanently so this can’t keep happening.

I’m sure they will have a say, so many claims in that area that need to be tended to each yr. ministry cutting off access might land them in some hot water for sure.

I have been in constant emails with the DM, engineering and others. There will be no deactivation this yr. they replayed that more consideration will be looked into but I’m thinking its just a cheap hand job for now. I pointed out some good info on blending the road so it’s a win win because all there answers that they gave was nothing more then hot air.
I hope they think a bit more about what their doing here. The licensee is also leaving access so I don’t buy into there story about being land locked.
more to fallow I guess.
