I don't build cheesy chit. Heavy fir timbers and sometimes a good snow load happens.

wood is so expensive now you have to measure 3-4 times before you cut

It was from a local mill and it was left over from another project that was completed last year. Win, win.

Question for the S&M "experts". The roofer quoted $5500.00 for 320 sqft of standing seam metal roofing. Is that expensive and the price was jacket because he really didn't want to do it?

For that kind of money I would find a Cedar/Larch and split my own shakes, that's a small roof and for what you need...make a day out of it.
