still not very impressive.. barely pulls away from you!!

Spoken like a expert keyboard rider.

So by your own words an axys isn't very impressive either. A stock axys won't even pull on a t3 in those same conditions despite being 40lbs lighter and quicker spooling. Not to mention better clutching and suspension. At least the new Doo will pull away from both of them.

I ride a lot, and very rarely post on here and its amazing how worked up people get. I never once compared my axys to the new G4, I merely stated that it looked unimpressive. I bought my axys already knowing that T3 would out climb it.

I have been riding for 22 yrs and it feels weird that I need to validate my experience. Did I say my axys was the best, not at all. Why are you so worried about my opinion?

Anyways... I didn't mean to ruffle up everyone's feathers. Comment retracted.... The new G4 Looks to be the Best sled ever made!

well... at least you bought a new axys. Fit and finish and reliability should be better. Electronic oil pump that won't burn you're eyes out by over oiling. Disappointed that their engine is still running fuel injection tech that is from the 90's. Poo is slowly getting there. Should be light years ahead of the pro though.

Im happy with the Axys. Runs strong and really like how it handles. Put a light can on it to save a few lbs. Going to get a bikeman pipe shortly and see if that will give it more top end.

Yup that is NOT a test of the 850. Drag race low pitch low snow

How do yah figure that?

The topic is about the engine.

If yah want to compare the engine performance of the two, than line up on a hill in low snow conditions and take lines and rider out of the equation.

I've seen way more G4 gets it by a sled length vids than the g4 blows the t3's doors off which IMO is way more believable.

If guys are expecting the 850 to be a 55mph trackspeed sled on a decent powder climb than you will be disappointed.

The 850 engine power to weight ratio is advertised as 1.78. The 800etec is 1.87.

I'm saying line them up at the bottom of a wall and see what happens.

Come on you guys and girls ???
If you don't think that these two sleds have been put side beside and ran against each other your in denial .
(T3 and G4)
If it is so much greater the video's would be out and not just one .
The difference I believe is in the handling and rider input?
10% isn't that much in real world testing and will not give the WOW factor in side beside comparison's.
Reason for BRP and Dave N. not showing them.
IMO

yes...because the true measure of a new model powder snow mountain sled is how well it does in a drag race in low snow against the previous year's sled...lol

Would be if it would have been decisive, LOL.

Lol! Thankyou good sir. The summit 154 makes higher ground speed in low snow so again not what a steel and deep mountain rider would be looking for in a comparison

when I got my xp my buddy's '02 700 summit would smoke me in a drag race across a field in a foot of snow. so disappointing...I changed clutching and gearing several times to make that thing go but it was fruitless. best I could get it to do was holeshot him and hold him off for 5-600 feet and he would still go flying by. but get them both in some deep snow in the mountains and it was a whole different story.

they say 30% faster accelerating... But the fine print leaves me thinking it will be less than 10%.

everyone is all about power and reality is there probably both really close. It's the torque of the 850 that will make you feel that it is faster.

The torque will be noticeable I'm sure, But I think it's gonna be forking over those $17000 $ bills that's gonna really convince guys it's the bomb. :).
