I think electric PWC make much more sense than snowmobiles. I agree with the commentary that most cottage owners would benefit greatly from electric vs. ICE. quick rips from the cottage up to an hour then it gets plugged in for a bit until someone wants to go for another ride.

Sleds used at ski resorts and used for utility make sense because the use is typically sporadic and they can be on the charger when not in use. I'm still not sold on mountain use or long haul trail use, I would think in order to get the battery life needed for a 6-8 hour day the weight would become an issue.

I think in both cases the low maintenance and instant torque are huge selling features and I can see them meeting the needs for a selection of users.

I really think electrics have a future, and will eventually be able to replace all ICE powered machines.

But I won't be lining up to trade in my sled, sxs, or boat for an electric. There's a big difference in energy requirements between a car cruising along a paved highway, and a sled running in 3ft of powder, a sxs climbing up a mountain trail, or a jet pump pushing a boat along. I figure I'll have an electric 1 ton pickup many years before the other toys have enough battery capacity to consider converting over.
