Thinking a new rig haven’t had a family style boat for a while, been running sport hulls 16-20 degree deadrise.

Looking at 18 or 20ft, v8 72 bottom on 18 and 78 bottom in 20, undecided on 8 degree or 12 degree dead rise. Leaning 12 so has better handling but want shallow water capabilities. Any input appreciated.

I personally would go 8. But they are rough on a lake. The 8 degree bottoms handle pretty good. I prefer the handling of my 8 then the 12 I had.

I toiled with this for almost a year. In the end I went with a 12. I do lake fish a fair bit so that’s we’re my decision went. It handles great and is great on the river. But if your mostly playing on the river the 8 deg is the ticket. Loves the shallow, on step quick and needs little water to play in. As far as resale value, not sure. I’m sure there are a few guys that can fill you in a little more.

Cheers
