I got my Tracker2 mid Feb last year, and only used it a couple of times. This season starting in Mid Dec., I have been to the hills every 2 weeks on average. After every ride I shut it off, and before every ride it's turned on and someone walks around the group to makes sure everyone's is on.

My question is.... What is the typical battery life using Duracell batteries? I'm heading out this weekend and just replaced them again, which has been every 2 weeks for the past 4 months. Yes, batteries are cheap enough from Costco, and really mean nothing in the grand sceme of things. But is 2 weeks with the power off typical, or should I be looking for warranty or possibly a new one?

Thanks in advance

Doesn't sound right Trashy. I could probably go a whole year with my Ortovox but change them mid season for safety sake.

I think I get about 8-10 rides out of my tracker 2. But I've left it on for weeks on end and that really hoops the batteries LOL. Try some diff brands of batteries maybe.
And what do you consider dead? I usually run mine to 80 percent then change them out.

I am on the same batteries since dec and they just came off 80%

Seeing how we have the same one, I think I might have to ask Mr. Terry what if any warranty is?

sounds like the GF is using yer batteries in her toys, nudge nudge wink wink.

you should get 300 hrs on send at least, sounds like the on off or something isn't working, or just pull a battery.

300/24=12.5 days. or 2 weeks.

I have thought about pulling a battery, But I don't think they would last a week of turning on and off daily. I'll give it a try, when I put fresh batteries in for this weekend and turn it on and off daily.

Thanks Larry, and that is a really good idea! I'll be able to check that when I get to Revy./

I heard you shouldn't use lithium batteries because of there tendencies to just suddenly drop out when there spent, bad news in the middle of a rescue.....
