Belt shedding on my secondary?

Has anyone else noticed this on their secondary clutch? Very fine black hairs, you can scratch them off with your finger nail them they like peel off the sides of your clutch. Is this signs of a poor belt break in? Normal? I can’t say as I noticed this earlier on in the year, but 2 trips ago I did just put a new belt on and broke it in on Renshaw trail.

On the outside of the clutch? I would guess it side panel rubbing

Should be wear marks on the center hub of the secondary if that was the case as well?

Yes on the outside of the secondary. I’ll take a different picture, but it would be super hard imo to push the side panel in to make it rub I thought.

I would agree... how does the belt material rub on the outside of the clutch...? Has to be the panel

Its likely from the vent ducting that is aimed at the secondary on the panel (its the lower vent with the silver coloured screen). Have look at it and you will likely see where it is rubbing, I can on mine.

This is it 100%...same thing on my sled.

Yup, this is it. I didn’t even think to look at that part of the side panel. Ha! Thanks for the tip guys

I took a bandsaw & trimmed about 1/4 inch off the duct and it still rubs if there’s enough pressure on the side panel

Not a bad idea, I could trim mine back some too
