Is it instant death? or does it chug then die? if it chugs and sputters it is steam stall water hits the pipe turns to steam and rises up under the tank and gets sucked into the intake usually killing it.

It's sort of like that, it usually happens right when I get out of water it will sputter then shut off, then it won't start till it drys off.

The grizzly 660 was bad for steaming itself. There was a recall kit from Yamaha if it's not already installed. It's like a aluminum covered foam pad for under the fuel tank. Trapped steam gets under the tank cover and that's where the air box pulls from. I have seen people drilling small holes in the tank cover approximately where the air intake is, and they claim it helps.

Mine was an 05 and used to do that. The cure was to rejet. Not sure why but once I did I never had the issue again.
