Yes i did.
The cooler is custom designed and sized to my specifications and CR built it for me. It is a replacement cooler for the OEM.
So you need to remove the OEM cooler under the seat and you reuse the bulk head cooler.
It is a simple yet big enough job, you will need to do some welding at the bulk head cooler to install a new hose nipple to connect the bulk head and U-cooler.
My tunnel collects virtually ZERO ice, in fact i have been riding with dudes on XM and G4's and as the day progresses i swear they have atleast 25-30lbs of ice collected under their tunnels, so we equalize abit in the weight department...LOL.
The cardboard cut out is the OEM cooler sizing.

Thanks for the info Lund it looks like every thing needs to be removed in order to access the work area does the bulk head cooler need to be removed in order to weld the nipple on and does the nipple come with a cooler from CR this does look like a bit of a job going to have to think about this not sure if i am comfortable attempting this project also don't have a decent place to work on it again thanks for the info and i admire your work

You have to pull the entire skid out and drive axle so you can get the track out of the way.
You don't need to remove the bulk head cooler as the nipple can be welded to it while its in the sled. You will have to get the sled up on end, nose down to make it easier to work with.
I took mine over to CR and had the fabricator do what had to be done, Chad is a friend and i live close to his shop so its easy for me to do this kind of stuff. If your considering doing this make sure that you or who ever will be welding is very good at welding aluminum. We used a TIG and the whole job was done with a TIG welder.
If your not comfortable to do the job then don't doit, you could always ship your sled to CR. stripped out and ready for the welding and cooler mod to be done.
Your probably looking at about $500 for the mod. if you have it all ready.

Does the MTX need the extra cooling? 4 strokes generally make more heat but any worse than a comparable 2 stroke?

i don't think that they are any different than any of the other mountain sleds if you find yourself riding for extended periods of time in marginal snow conditions and needing to use the scratchers most of the time just looking for a way not to be so dependent on the scratchers to travel through these conditions with the manufactures trying to get machines as light as they can they seem to give you a basic cooling system for riding in a descent amount of snow all the time just my thoughts on this
