He didnt, as soon as he put the tunnel extention, 174 3" track, racers edge skid with aftermarket shock, Cr boards.. that sled is right back up there or weighs more. Plus I see his sled is for sale on kijiji - Im not being rude, but when you go 174 the weight has to increase

I had a 174 Boost It Viper ( Dewalt sled ) it weighed 676 #s wet and handled like it weighed alot more, got rid of it and bought a 15 163 viper 3" power claw track ( lighter than the Camso 3") Same Boost it turbo, light weight hood, 36" Alt Impact front end, lightweight battery ... 618 #s wet and handled very well compared to the 174 tank viper.

It is for sale. I blame his screwed up shoulder on the sled. His body was only used to a 2 stroke turbo not the torque of the sidewinder. His 174 ain’t no tank, rides just fine.

The other day we weighed Lunds SW with no fuel in it but all other fluids in it and it weighed in at 520lbs. We also weighed a T3 non turbo and it came in at about 475lbs with no fuel in it.
The two are about 45lbs apart but once fueled up, they are actually closer as the SW has a 30L fuel tank vs the T3 40L fuel tank. I think once a T3 is turboed that gap would be considerably closer. Maybe even as close as 25-30lbs.

pretty close for sure but how stock was the t3 and what length are we talking 174 vs 174, e-start, stock muffler?

I'm not exactly sure of everything he's done to it for weight saving. I do know its got a very small light weight battery that weighs about 4lbs, versus the 15lb lead battery it had. He's also ditched the huge muffler and put a CR stainless pipe. The Yamaha muffler weighs in at about 20lbs from what I was told.
Yes they are both 174's and the T3 is bone stock with e-start.

YTZ 20 is stock around 15 lbs, ytz 7 is close to 4-5 lbs 150$, that earth one is like 1.1lbs 400$. I ran the ytz7 on my nytro, it will crank the motor but on a colder morning -20c if definitely cant crank as long as the stock one. Once warm or a typical -5c mountain morning ride the ytz7 was fine.

Sorry to hear about his shoulder, did not say his was a tank, but my old 174 T Viper was brutal, my old 162 was way better handling.

No and ifs or buts, a Sidewinder extended to 174 is going to add more weight, then add Aftermarket Coil over shocks, Cr Boards... the weight keeps increasing - It has to. Take off the 162 PC = MORE WEIGHT. The 162 PC track is one of the lightest on the market.

I weighed the Stock muffler with the heat shield today on my 2018 SE Sidewinder it weighed real close to 17 lbs, I put on a RedLine pipe that weighed in at 4lbs (Sounds Nice) so 12 to 13 lbs savings there.

I have a Light weight battery on the way that is supposed to weigh 2.5 lbs - so maybe save 12 lbs there, thats a total of about 25 lbs there.
I cant see where else to save weight on these. I absolutely think Skinz sucks for a company and IMO feel their seat is ugly as ****, so thats out.

And the way the hood is designed its going to be awhile before anyone makes a lightweight hood..

Not an estart but my old 2013 163 2.5" track Skidoo XMX pull start TSS Turbo full of fuel weighed 586 lbs so add on e start items to that.

So in the end, apples to apples the 2 sleds weigh closer than most think. SW should pull decent hp at elevation and have the potential 4s reliability. Gas and go.

I can also confirm the numbers of stock muffler 18lbs and Redline with resonator was 4lbs. I also have a earthx battery on the way another 10lbs savings. CIA doesn't change much but has anyone taken off all the intake ducting under hood? I'm curious as to what makes that hood feel heavy.
