Trade summit xm for turbo nytro???? HELP

Hi guys, I have a 2013 summit xm 800 witha 154" track thinking about trade for a 2010 nytro mtx 162 with a 270 mcxpress turbo kit! Sled has like just over 2000 kms and has skinz front end with fox evo shocks, cr tunnel dump, new yamaha mountain skis , rollover valve / tether, runs on pump gas! What do you guys think? Should I do it? Ride 60% flat land low elevation ditch banging and farmers fields and40% mountain riding! Any info or thoughts would be great.,

Watch the reviews it pretty much answers your question. Imo it's a huge downgrade what's the point? Yamahas are still tanks i don't care whats done to it. Reliable as they come but still a 4 stroke tank. The new doos are so reliable and efficient why would you want to trade

I head a 300hp nytro and as much fun the power is I'll never own one again handles like a tractor with a flat tire and yes that was after I put thousands into handling products before was like 4 flat tires but the pull was like nothing I have felt before after I sold it head a Xp and now a pro and am happy that after a day riding I'm not beat to death tried

I have a turbo nytro, and a turbo e tec. I rarely ride the etec. Prefer the hp of the 4 stroke.

Unless you're in some nice pow, they are brutal. Heavy and tiring. Been there, done that. Boosted Apexes and Nytros. I'll take a stock XM all day.

Don't get me wrong, I love the pull and sound of a boosted 4 but not as a daily rider.

Although... I seriously need to try out a new T Viper.

The Nytro with boost will be a blast on the Prairie. My Brother has a 180 and for flat land ditch banging it is lots of fun. These sleds are 2 different machines and you need to decide if you want to have more fun on the flat land or the mountains.

A couple years ago I traded my one season old pro for a turbo nytro and was the biggest mistake I've ever made. The power of a four strokes is fun, but more often then not I wished I was on a two stroke. Mine had all the upgrades that the one you are looking at has, but a beat beat up and 5000km and I sold it for 5000 to a buddy. So you'll probably lose a lot more money on the nytro then xm come time to sell.

Unfortunately the Nytros and Apexes are losing a lot of value with the new Viper out.

I would suggest trying to get some riding time on a 4 banger and see if its your thing or not. Even flatland riding, I like to jump approaches and get into some tight spots. The XM is a good sled for this. :beer:

it would appear everyone has opinions and experiences on the FOUR STROKE sleds. Not all 4 strk riders dislike there rides just for the record. It depends on experience, sled setup, and mostly your style of riding and where you ride. I personally have been riding the 4 strk for over 8 yrs and love it. I have jumped back on to the two stroke for an occasional ride, and they are ok too, you need to look at your riding style and talk to peeps that have an like the 4stroke to get an idea, everyone who doesn't like it or hasn't owned one will have their opinion, and it may be all negative. This doesn't help make an educated decision. They are heavier yes, they handle different yes, they are turn key n go - minimal maintenance, smooth power- again setup - And tons of torque! Awesome fuel economy, loads of potential for getting more hp. I would caution on going to a 240-270 hp off the hop, as the handling an power take some getting used to.

Some of the 4strokes I have had yamaha RS rage 136 track, vector mountain 151 track, yamaha apex 162 track, five arctic cat 1100 turbos - this yr riding the sr. Viper with turbo. I believe this gives me some experience . I am not a hill climber, I like to boondock n just ride wherever, lots of miles logged on the flats and the hills.

Your ur personal riding style, and how your ride is set up will make a lot of difference, four stroke to two stroke? They are different , so are dodges n Chevys , I am a ford guy. Just different sleds ride n handle differently. Even two strokes, they say you never hear all the good stuff just when there's a problem. Keep that in mind. I sold my Xp for a 270 nytro and I will never look back. The best in the mountains for big powder days and wicked for riding around home. Sure....you will have to work harder but there is always time at the top of hill to relax and have lunch while you wait for your two stroke friends to pound a hard enough trail to get to where your at!

I am am sure the Xm's are sweet but a stock 800 just isn't enough to get my beer belly up the hill. Cheers

Yea id really like some more snow here around edm so I can take it for a ride! I love the 2 stroke but imma hp junkie and it just sounds like a lot of fun to me! And the reliability of the 4steoke aswell!
