Vertical steering on sidewinder

Has anyone had any luck putting cat setup for very steering post on a winder. I have a post and tripod for a M1100. From my understanding the only real difference is the steering block that the steering post goes through. Curious if anyone has measured the difference between the 1100 and the viper. Looks like the rear post on the tripod will be 1/2” short or so. I would like to just cut the steering block to work. Anyone done this and been successful or not? Any help will be much appreciated.

Can’t comment on the M1100 vertical post, but I used one from a Viper on my King Cat, and told the M7000 fits as well. Seems to me the tripod mounts are different on the 1100...
