My opinion is that you need to set it up for your riding style and your sled setup. There is no harder sleds to tune suspension on, because they are the most variable sleds on the hill. They all have different horsepower, suspensions and track sizes with different riding styles thrown in there as well.

I rode a 153 with stock skid and a boost-it turbo, 10psi, no head shim. So fun! but couldn't climb steep unless you kept ground speed really really high. But re-entrys where so easy, cat walks, trees where so fun.


Then you could have a 174 with a baker and 25psi with a boost-it kit, with so much ski pressure its no fun to do anything but climb hard with.


06 Dragon, I think if you want a more playful feeling sled, loosen the back spring in your baker way off, loosen the limiter straps and max out the center spring. Find the happy spot for yourself, between a chute climber and a boondocker.

Well This viper has been fun to ride. Definitely going to keep it around for my son to ride when he gets time.

I find the 2.5 camo extreme track is done though. Paddles fold over. It’s actually scary at times. Sled had 9000km on it and not sure how many of them are on this track but I know it’s got a lot.

So question. Power claw 2.6 or 3? I’m leaning towards the 2.6. Will the 3” fit? Looks like there’s lots of room.

Personally… I’d cut and install a Doo 163 x 3 x 3.0.

It depends on what the sled will be used for and how good your son is.
The 2.6 power claw is far more playful as it is soft allowing for slippage.
The 3 extreme is very aggressive and better suited for more experience riders using far more body language.
It was develop for high HP 4strokes.
That is the 9115M. You could go to a less aggressive 3" but my choice in that case would be the Power Claw.
Plus the HP plays a big role and I think your a low boost 180-90 so no brainer to me. Get your son use to the 4stroke handling. Then if he's into it he could move on to more power and insane hookup of the 9115M.
Plus I'm thinking of the area you mainly ride.
BTW, to an unexperienced rider the 3" extreme will be a major trencher and digger, just a thought.

If you think that 2.5 camo fold s u will not like that ch!t power claw . 3 inch is the only way get a new camoplast

I put a doo 3 inch on my turbo viper back in about 2015 or 16 and it was absolute garbage . The paddles folded over instantly . Not sure if the newer doo tracks are any better? I put a 3" power claw on and it was like i bolted on another 30 hp . The track is awesome in all conditions and paddles have no wear after 3000km boosted

I had the exact opposite outcome on my 2012 M1100T. Took off the shitty, folding over, trenching 3” PC. Put a cut Doo 3”, 3.0 pitch and that some bitch wouldn’t stop! Downhill braking was also night and day better!

I guess it depends where you ride, the type of snow and the conditions.

Ya totally opposite of what I found . The paddles are still like new and so stiff compared to everything else. I ride Revvy , sic, Mcbride , Valemount. It’s almost like the old 2.5 “ camo extreme I used to run on other yammies the track was tough and great for boost

I know a few buddies installed the power claw on their 850 axys and think it’s the best track. I always thought it was the track to have. I guess everyone has there own combo that works.

I ride with a friend that replaced the sad Polaris track on his turbo Poo to a Power Claw, he says night and day difference. It is the 2.6 version.
Too bad you sold your Sidewinder, it was a nice build.

Should’ve never sold mine. I purchased it as a basket case. I went through it, fixed a bunch of stuff and made a bunch of changes to suit my style. Maybe someone recognizes it?

I been thinking the same thing for a track on my 22 slash 165 2.75 the traction is terrible the paddles are soft . It’s good for champagne type powder that’s about it . Going downhill is like a crazy carpet
