Not Sure
Why buy an obsoleted product. Even if it is used. .

Obsolete doesn’t mean garbage. I’d still buy a 2006 Rev or a turbo Apex if I had the cash lying around

If you say so, 2 weeks ago on the hill i had a guy offer me $15,000 for my Winder. He said he has been looking and there are a few but not many and not with my set up. Believe it or not there are guys loving the Winder and 4 strokes and the limited commodity makes them valuable to those. Just the same as there are those that prefer the typical cookie cutter that everyone rides. If your not liking that deal i guess you can look at the other one across the street.
Either way i certainly entertained it and even went to Cat to negotiate a deal on one of their's. Then decided to consider a trade with my other Cat and keep the Winder.
At the end of the day, no deals with Cat dealer.

Possibly, that being said I’ve rode the same area since 92 and there has been a definite increase in riders every year. Parking lots are over full. It’s really good to see lots of kids out there to.

I personally think the future of sleds is the 4 stroke market. Right now how can yamaha compete with the 2stroke market when the cat is almost 10g cheaper.

With the way this world is going, will there be 2 strokes in the next 5 years??? Dunno stay tuned.

With the way it's going right now there won't be a mountain market because we wont't be able to ride there anymore anyways, and then yes, 4 stroke might have a fighting chance

It’s very unfortunate forsure... but why did Yamaha RE-Trademark “Mountainmax”? Maybe you guys are correct that they are setting a correction or reset... Dunno but I do like Yamaha products.

Really hoping so! Love my Yamaha's but will have to find another brand if I wish to ride a mountain without custom building my sled.

I totally agree....they never announced that the mountain segment is done...still trying to liquidate the existing mtx’s in stock my guess. They did change colours and produced mtx models in other countries, so that’s a good indicator right there it’s not over.

Still love the 4 strokes and they go anywhere the others go and more. But at the end of the day they are heavier and just a bit more of a handful to ride than the others. There is no giggle factor bigger than a boosted apex stretching your arms as you bust 4.5 ft of powder through the trees on the side of a mountain!!!

Cool looking....probably would still buy the 19 colour scheme.

I believe they will make a rebound next year providing they move out current showroom inventories.

There are no changes in the line up of mountain specific units, so why produce more just to stock pile into inventory and suppress the value of the current new and used units. It doesn't make sense.
The mountain Sidewinders are working extremely good in performance and handling with virtually no issues with them and 99% of everyone that owns one of these say it is the best sled they have ever owned.
So until more of the market starts to move towards mountain 4 strokes, it may or may not. It's only sensible for Yamaha to limit the mountain models and hold back a year or two when no changes are going to be made in the line up. Especially when these units are working so well.
Yamaha will introduce a new model year, most likely in 2021 or 2022 as the Winder will be a 4 year model and unlikely it will be a Winder but something new.

I agree, lots of non current new winders at dealers to move, before releasing a new redesigned product.

I think what cat and yamaha is doing is very smart. If other manufacturers did this, the resale value of used sleds would be stronger.

I agree Caper. The market needs a correction. Time to clean out inventories and start fresh for everyone.
