i thought to secondary was the issue to cause that great of change. Didn’t really find anything taking it apart, besides flat rollers. Sucks when it’s the last ride...start fresh this year.
Ok I noticed something in the clutching specs between 17 to 18. The 17 uses 1-3 40deg and the 18 used 3-3 60 deg. I assumed 3-3 was was factory on the 17 and didn’t pay attention taking it apart. So when I installed the 13.3 mm 3.1g in the tip of the 8kc weight, I set the secondary to 3-3. I wonder if that’s why it wouldn’t make rpm, but that’s the spec for the 18. Weird. I guess I’ll find out soon.

I currently have the silver orange silver primary, 8lr weights loaded, secondary stock orange spring wound 3-3 with hi torque rollers.

My next combo is the s-o-s spring, 8kc with the 13.3mm tip weight and the secondary at 1-3 and 3-3 see what changes.

I want the clutching setup for tree riding, could care less about track speed on big open unless I’m heading to Sicamous.

3-3 at 60deg was my recommendation last season, after running numerous trial’s. If you read back in my thread you will find the clutch settings for the secondary. Yamaha did the change on their 18 and 19 models.

How did you like the 8LR weights loaded up along with the 3-3 60 degrees secondary setting? I am going to be running that this year!

How did you like the lower engagement , also I’m on my stock track 162 unlike your 174

I haven’t tried them yet..hopefully soon.

I did not think you were going to run the 8LR weights ?? interesting
I don't think your going to like them over the 8KC for the type of riding you do. The 8KC are better suited for tree riding and slugging through the deep from what we came up with.

Curious to see what they feel like.

Me Aswell, I love riding creeks and trees, but also love to pull some climbs . And shoot up small chutes and tree lines! Curious to see how I like it Aswell, first ride 27-29 in blue river and valemount, can’t wait

It won't pull as hard in the low end because the 8LR don't have enough base weight compared to the 8KC but in the mid and top it will out pull the 8KC because of a flatter profile so will shift much harder

Have you tried 8KC with D rivet in the tip and sec 3-3? I’m not sure why it wouldn’t pull rpm. We were 7300’ heavy spring snow
