Using a decent bathroom scale...so take it for what it’s worth.... I measured myself and myself with the hood 3 times each and it was close to 17-18lbs every time. Seat is around 10-11lbs. Can is about 16-17lbs.

Oh wow. So some decent savings to be had there. I think they are about the same on the G4s.

Good looking sled, you do real nice work.
I thought you bought and OSP belt adjuster ? Or just not installed yet.

I don't usually post too much but i couldn't help myself this time. That unit looks amazing. You have a talent Turblue. To the normal Joe it looks stock. I agree Chad @ CR is amazing but you should consider this as a career as well. Keep up the good clean work, i will be keeping my eye on this build for sure. Cheers

I'm currently working on my third build using CR-racing custom parts and truly they have been outstanding in craftsmanship, performance and durability.
Not just superior to all OEM parts but many other after market builders out there.
I built several other sleds using a couple other builders, not to mention names but one out of Kelowna another in Edmonton and both supplied inferior parts that failed. Chad at CR runs an amazing business and if he doesn't have it he can build your custom part, he has on several occasions for me.

The other thing I would like to add is i try to stick local for parts. if we don’t support our local guys they won’t be around....I bought most of my parts from CR, Boost-it(bought parts prior to them closing) Spiralus Design, CFR, Munster(soon), Iceage, Canada Sled Parts, and local dealers for parts and pieces.

Build looks great Shawn. Need to try and get out together sometime this season, i am really interested in the SW since we were talking about them last winter.

Hey Blake...thanks! Yeah forsure on going for a rip...SW is a blast to ride ....and you comming off a Cat would feel right at home. Guy could even check and see if the Yamaha power tour is happening and ride one for a day in Golden.

I'm actually surprised neither Yamaha nor cat have come out with a 17x track machine yet to take some of the work out of a build but nonetheless this build and lunds are top shelf.

Very exciting season coming up and looking forward to seeing what changes Yamaha comes out with for the next i.e. a chassis of their own.

Yamaha wouldn’t even really need to change a whole bunch to make it better imo. Re design the snow flap/rear bumper to make its usable. Better boards are a must...I tried tube boards on my xm, but wasn’t a fan...the flat extruded boards CR makes are the ticket. Clean up the steering and controls...get things off the bars and on the console. Sure if I was into trail riding with my butt planted on the seat...makes sense to have everything at your fingertips....not when your ripping through the trees. As for 174 it’s really not that difficult, but maybe economics play a part there, and there just isn’t enough interest in it. Push button start would be a nice to have but not a deal breaker by any means. Also some type of modular rack system with options would be nice.

I have disassembled and reassembled a fair share of sleds over the years making them “better” in my view....another reason if you know how there built, you know how they will stand up. Yamaha has a pretty darn good sled out of the box....it would only need a few tweaks to push it ahead. It will be interesting to see what is in the horizon for Yamaha....I’m super pumped to be riding a Yamaha again.

I agree with the above. Though there is one area that i really don't like on the SW and the Cats.
There is room for a huge improvement in that area and i know there would also be a significant weight lost. Ditching the retarded gear box and bringing back the Diamond drive. A new improved version, Cat used the system for years, almost 10yrs and though issues came along on the first generation models the newer models proved to be reliable and solid.
Getting rid of the gear box and jack shaft IMO in my years of doing builds would put these SW and Cat sled on top of the heap. A stronger heavier duty Diamond drive is what i would add to Turblue list.
