Actually bought the one for sale on here. New already cut down. Camso still lists it as a track so I assume you can.

Here is what I found out. The magnets just push in the rubber plug. They are opposite polarity of each other. So with another magnet one attracts and one repels if you ever need to put one back in. Rubbing is common I guess

After switching back and forth in different snow conditions the Polaris gripper skis are staying on. Don’t think there’s a huge difference but sidehilling doesn’t seem so twitchy with them. Could all be in my head also. Lol. You know how us sledders rationalize things.
also wanted to mention that stay on top of keeping the clutching clean. With the little bit of oil residue that leaks out of the air intake ...it seems to really make things stick to the clutching. I guess maybe I should put chads intake on. Haven’t noticed issues starving from air on the deep days ever.

I think I might do a catch can setup to keep any oil out of the intake system. Even with a cold air intake any roll overs and small amounts of oil leak into the intake. Over a weekend it seems to add up.

Have you tried a stiffer center spring yet on the Winder?

Your most likely having that issue because your roll over valve is staying stuck open. Yes there will be a little oil getting pass but very little, not enough to cause issues like dripping, the intake will burn it out.
I now have 1000km, have rolled the sled several times and have not seen any oil issue like your describing, yes i do have a little at the intake but that is normal.
The ROV need's regular maintenance, cleaning. I clean mine every 4-5 rides, that keeps it operating properly. If you have your sled up side down a little more then you should clean it more often. It only takes 5min. at most to clean, super easy.

No I haven’t. Planning on making a order on a few parts ...I get it shipped to the border and drive down and grab them. Way cheaper.
Also https://seatconcepts.com is making a seat kit and complete seat for the sidewinder. 299us for kit( cover and foam) and 399us for complete. Can get any Color combo you want and rubber grip panels if you want. Thinking of all black one...don’t like the tall factory seat ..except at the end of the day.

I see oil, I push things in the steep trees and run out of talent quite often.....lol so mine spends a fair amount of time rolling over. Only on the cold days.

WOW, one sweet seat, all black for me too. I don't think i would do the grip on the side though, i think it would interfere with my running board dances...LOL

They told me introductory 15% off right now...so cover some of the exchange. Thinking easier to buy the whole seat than the kit. That way could sell either down the road. I’m going to try it...then see what Yamaha is going to end up

I see oil too but not too much, cold day's will look worst because of condensation the oil turns color, so you see it better.

No not a lot. Just enough to slightly coat things outside of the air box. Meaning belt dust sticks..not like the clutches are shiny from oil coating. Lol
I ended up ditching the skidoo adjustable riser. That thing moves constantly....couldn’t get it tight enough. So just the stock skidoo 5.5” riser and cfr bar 2” rise.

Ya, 100% normal then. But i think you also clean your ROV as maintenance, remember discussing that issue a while back.
Yes getting the whole seat is the way to go for the extra 100.
Climax said Yamaha will have a new seat design for them, wonder when that is?

Hello Lund. First time member and first post. Just wanted to give a huge shout out to you, Lund, Xm, Kibbels, etc etc. I am so impressed with the info, pics, quality of work, and knowledge of all the members on this site. You heavily influenced me and changed my mind of what to buy. Proud to say I’m a owner of a used 2018 sidewinder MTX. I know the passion, time, and effort that goes into building, testing, researching, and riding. Thanks to all for posts like this that tell us newbies the ins and outs and what’s possible. Congrats on the Sidewinder!!!!! Yes there are some knowledgeable fellas on here that have also helped me along the way. Besides the people you mentioned, Climbmax has helped quite a bit along the turbo Yamaha way. You will have a blast with that sled. I have really been trying to capture everything to make it easy for people to find what they need. Unfortunately its getting a little long in the tooth to sift through all the pages. Lol.

Any feedback out there on the 2018 front fox qs3 shocks? I’m thinking of ordering a set. I sent my Elkas in for repair due to the body and springs rubbing. They claimed springs were banana shape and replaced/repaired them. I’ve been riding with float 3. The Elkas are night and day difference on the rough trail...sidehilling and messing around in the trees hard to say that there’s any difference.
