I purchased a 2016 viper mtx 153 base back in November mainly because they were on for a killer price. I already had 4 sleds all 2 stroke but figured a 4 stroke would be great for local riding and very long lasting. ( my last flatland 2s had 5300 miles and was still running great when i sold it)

Since the viper will be doing local riding and never boosted (should have got the xtx but I dragged my feet too long and they all sold) I would like to set the mtx up best I can for around home....4000 ft and below.

Clutching suggestions? Bother with gearing Changes? Right now i can hit the rev limiter very easily and not allowing this engine to pull like it seems to want to.

I like the 2.6 Powerclaw so like to keep that.

Do I stay with 87 octane fuel on this motor as the manual suggests?

How often should a person check the chain case etc on these sleds doing moderate use? Sled has 220 miles on it now and will be going in for 1st dealer service very soon. Hoping to get them to make any changes at that time.

First time with a Cat chassis so learning as I go ( no sway bar for example and very lively to say the least lol)

Thank you
