I have a 2010 FX Nytro XTX with only 300km on it. Had a crappy year this year for snowmobiling for me. My question is, when sould i do my first service? This spring before i park it for the summer or this fall when i get it ready for winter?

I always do it in the spring/summer so my machines are sitting in good oil all summer. I don't think you want it sitting for months in contaminated oil. Works for me, I change the oil every July.

Thanks For the tip. What do you think of the first service that they offer? is it Worth the money or should i do it myself?

I've always done it myself. I cannot comment on thier first service offer, I never had it offered for my Apex or Phazer. What are they doing for how much? It cost me about $30 to change the oil on my apex and $11 of that is for the Yami filter.

It's a pain to get at the filter on an Apex but I only change the filter every other year. I'm sure it's a pain on the Nytro as well. As this is your first season, I'd do the filter to catch any break in debris.

Give everything a good grease while your in there.

can someone explain the procedure of changing the oil?

On the Apex it's nothing special, dump the crank case oil, dump the oil tank oil, change the filter, fill 'er back up with oil. Run and check the oil level.

Of course to get to the filter you have to take the air box and battery out! To get to the crack drain you have to take the skid plate off.
