Hi, I'm triing to put my chaincase lower gear on and I seem to be missing a washer or spacer. The yamaha parts fische only shows a bearing c-clip spacer gear washer and nut. But when I do this I have almost a 1/4" of the splines showing. Am I missing a part Or are the parts I have wrong? Maybe the bearing I have in the chaincase is supposed to have a spacer built into it? uploadfromtaptalk1425346967882.jpg
This is the picture of the lower shaft and gear in the chaincase.

This is the picture I have of the parts. Now the top spacer is thinner than the bottom spacer and if I swap them I have the wrong offset and more of the splines showing. uploadfromtaptalk1425347278462.jpg

Do you have the collar #21 behind the sprocket? The other thought I had was have you had the driver shaft out? Possibly it is sitting offset to one side for some reason.

Yes it is behind the sprocket. Yes I have and I am thinking it is time to take it apart to have a look. Maybe it's not sitting in the other end properly and that's why it sits out to far.

Hey - did you ever figure this out? I just tore mine apart to replace the bearings - and now I have the same offset (similar to your picture) - where the splines are showing on the lower sprocket... I also replaced the bearing on the other side but it looks tight - so I don't know where the offset is occurring... Any ideas would be great. Thanks.
