on a 99mm 600. I have a bog when pined of the line and runs good for the rest. seems to run good if tested with the 1/2 choke on so I adjusted the rod that the choke is connected to on the carb about an 1/8 or so. just wondering if anybody knows how much I can adjust the choke without going to far or if there is something else I can or should be adjusting? thx.

First is don't use the choke. It will enrichens all the metering. Sounds like you need to put bigger pilot jets in it.

Sounds like you need to clean the carb on it. Make sure you clear the passages through out the carburetor body as well with compressed air.

thx for the input. those were a few of my thoughts aswell. will be doing that this week.... just this carb looks a lot more "involved" than your standard carb and didn't want to inadvertently mess something up. it seems to like the warmer weather ive found out lately. also it came with br9 ecs instead of the standard br9 es i'm used to in this vintage of machine?

So long as you put everything back the same you'll be fine. If it ran fine before and nothing is new, then it's a dirty carb. No need to bump the pilot if nothing has been added or changed.

yes dirty pilot jets, your bog and it liking choke and warm air is signs of restricted pilot jet flow. use a cutting torch tip cleaning kit

I took them carbs off mine. Nothing but Junk. I used the standard carbs from a v-max. They were far from smart carbs. lol
