What's the hotel situation looking like up there for that weekend Mitch? Slim pickings?
Hard to say right now, 2 more hotels should be open by then, probably lots of rooms available right now the way everyone waits for the last minute these days.

Forecast is calling for up to 40cm of fresh snow between now and the WSI. Recent cold weather has halted the melt, it looks to be perfect weather for a (mostly) outdoor winter event. Hotel rooms are not an issue. Come on out and be a part of the festivities.

Mitch,

Coming up Sunday, are they grooming Saturday night after everyone does the loops on Saturday or what is the plan?

Are both loops about the same length? I've got a buddy here at work wanting to take his 4 year old son with him, so the length could make or break his day.

Let me know!

they are running both loops both days to spread out the traffic. They will be groomed Saturday night. The North route is 65Km, a little less challenging than the South (less winding trail and not as hilly). South loop is 80kM and a bit more challenging.

awesome I did read that about the loops yes, just want to suggest an "easier" alternative to him as he's doubling his son.

North route would be both shorter and easier on a little body. Obviously the earlier a guy could get out, the better the trail conditions will be. There is a good hard base under the fresh so hopefully the whoops shouldn't get too bad. Basically 15 km between checkpoints. I guess only Dad knows if the young'un is up to it.

Soooo...I would like to attend this thing...however I was not sure if I could get the time off to attend so I have not attmpted to get tickets yet unitl today. I have a hotel booked but trying to get tickets for the nightly events and concerts I will have to chance trying to get a ticket when I get there from wherever they are sold (I will be there on the 12th in the late afternoon). I made a phone call and there is only 700 tickets left? Cant buy them online. I am traveling a very long distance and don't want to be out of a ticket. Any ideas as to what I could do?
