Movies from Computor to the TV

I like to watch movies from Computor on the big TV
some say get a X-box 360 and some say a cable?

Depends on your setup. A cable would probably be the easiest depending how close the two are in your house. You could get something like the apple tv that would play videos from your computer or network among other things. Or some of the newer TVs you can even connect directly to your home network or the Internet.

For 125 bucks CDN tax in and an HDMI cable you can stream with the new Apple TV Wireless n device...it also does Nextflix, Youtube etc. I've had it a couple of weeks and love it. They have a 30 day money back if you don't like it...I'm keeping it.

I have a HDMI that's 45 feet on the floor that my son used to hook into his Xbox. Guess I should hook it up and try that Retodd.

i tried playing movies thru the xbox wirelessly. it dosnt work. it will play store bought movies but not downloaded. i just download to the laptop then use an HDMI. its the only way to go

All depends on what you have for sound and video OUTPUT on your computer. I have an older sound box that i use S video to goto the TV. Also can use the RC cords. Some of the newer boxes have an HDMI output. I want one of these so i can record movies on the TV box then record them onto DVD by passing them to the computer...

Another Idea for you! I have a 500 g harddrive that I take with my laptop to work with me,I have somewhere around 200 movies including all of my sled movies and a couiple series and still have room for about twenty more movies on it,.Anyway I backed it up on another 500 g harddrive and went to costco and for 120 bucks you can get this cable converter(dont know what its called)but we have one and that one stays home and is hooked up to the bigscreen sio we can watch them all at home as well,the nice thing about the hard Drive and the converter is it can go with you everywhere and takes seconds to hook up to any tv or pc .
I also have a 8 g stick and if a buddy has a movie I like I put on the stick and tranfer it into my library as soon a I get to my harddrive!

what is this "converter"? Cant you just plug the hard drive in direct with the USB? My TV has the USB port but I have never read the directions so i dont know what its for

I have been looking for info on setting up a network for watching video files from my PC onto TV also.
Does any one have experience with one of these WD TV Live Hub 1 TB, Full-HD 1080p, network media center ( WDBABZ0010BBK )

While we`re on this topic...does anyone know how to rip dvd movies to a PC hard drive??

I use anydvd to back up my dvds to my comp then i have the comp pluged in to the tv with a hdmi cable, kind nice never having to put dvd in to watch a movie. the only problem with anydvd is it saves the whole movie up t 8gb on your hd, i use dvd shrink to shink them down to 4gb saves some room on the hd.

Gonna take this one a bit off topic. Doing a distance course that has to have a bunch of videos of me speaking, so did the video and hooked up and put on my mac's imovie. How do I burn it to a dvd or cd and what format will it burn in? I need it in windows media player or dvd.........

I use a DLNA capable Samsung TV to play HD videos over my home network. Full 1080p HD movies done wirelessly. I get the odd buffering issue, looking to go gigabit wired for a permanent set up. My only problem is storing all the movies.

Download or convert to AVI files....put on mem stick...pop it into my LG Blu-rays...plays like a DVD/BR.
