Hi All,

We had a little trouble keeping the groomer on top of the ice :( which resulted in our active members being busy last meeting. Since only two people made it to the meeting  and we were unable to complete grooming by boxing day our rally was postponed . There is a meeting JAN 12 to discuss holding a rally on family day and our regular monthly agenda from December.

We will also hold our regular January meeting on Jan 26, 2011.

That's for sure. Our usual suspect crossings were good, but unfortunately that doesn't mean they are all good. Ya just never know where the water is seeping up here. I see culverts carrying water at 30 below that were dry last summer. Go figure..........and pre pack the whole darn trail..lol.

NOTE LAST MINUTE MEETING CHANGE!!!!

JANUARY 13, 2011 at the Mirage.

Nice to see a new, old face last night. We need people. There are 5-10 people active currently and it would be great to increase that number if we are to keep all the trails open.

Personal rant: People drop by and say things like "Well when the trails are open we'll buy a pass" or "why are the trails so rough". Folks, You gotta wake up!!!. Remember when we all got together just to bust the trail. Then, we had to do it all over again on the next ride? It took all day just to get out 1/2 way on what our trails cover now. The ASA trailpass helps support a provincial group that provides an umbrella of services to local clubs. It provides the snowmobiler a voice at a provincial level. It provides a distrubution of funds to help out clubs in developing their trail system. It provides an educational service that demonstrates and teaches safe sledding. It does not provide funds for everyday trail maintenance and costs. Those must come from the trail users and club members. This is not a service provided by some government agency. It is a group of yer neighbors and friends trying to provide something we can all enjoy. If you just want to pay to use it then ask yourself if you are willing to support a high cost club membership so that the club can pay for a full time trail groomer. I am not saying that is what will happen, but if ya wont help out then ya gotta pay someone to do the work. One small accident (thin ice) costs days of work and thousands (yes thousands) of dollars to correct. I know we are all busy in today's world and we all just want to have fun when no one is paying us, but heck, It wasn't that long ago we were pioneers and homesteaders helping around the community to make community grow. Think on this a little please, and help out your community based organizations.

Thanks
