quick question for you elan experts. its a 250 deluxe and seems the clutch engages on super high rpm. is there an adjustment that can be done in the clutch? different spring? part sourcing? elan2.jpg elan 2.jpg

Maybe it just needs a clean. Or needs to be gone through and worn/broken parts replaced as who knows what if any maintenance has been done on it.

I bet just a good cleaning and some light oiling and will be good to go. Put a bazillion miles on mine, fun machine he will have fun.

What RPM is it engaging at? Lots of the older smaller CC sleds engaged higher as they had low HP so the higher RPM engagement aided in pulling away. Could also just require some cleaning/maintenance as others have mentioned.

no tach for an exact rpm read, but enough to spin the track real good once it engages, and its definitely not a slow controlled engage.

i'll try cleaning it first. thanks for the tips.
