Maybe he will get a radio for Christmas!

You know Ray. It’s pretty easy for us to go that direction, and I’ll admit it’s way easier to say shoulda, coulda, woulda. Probably be some questions answered in the coming days no doubt. But there gonna celebrate Christmas together. Not at a funeral home. I will say another thing to after reading some comments. If it was your child or next to kin that was missing and someone said a word of prayer for loved ones to come home safely you would accept it. A big thanks to SAR for spending there weekend searching. So yes. Prayers were answered.

glad he was found and gets to be home for christmas
imo i would like to know the facts and learn but i am not wanting to jump to conclusions as it was his poor judgment of friends or lack of radio that caused this situation
imo people are jumping to conclusions before knowing facts

Glad this fellow gets to go home to his young family.
He will be a changed person and he group will undoubtedly view sledding and risk controls differently.
They may choose to share event information or they may choose not to......that is their business.
Our group has had some tough times that have not been shared on S&M as none of us wanted to listen to comments of condemnation.
Some times people want their space and if they are not offered positive help there is no reason to expose themselves to judgement by the peanut gallery.

I think everyone is curious too. hopefully there is a story for us, if not oh well....

His wife is friends with my niece, all she said was that he was found, so I didn't bother to ask any further than that,.. What happened will be revealed when it needs to be.

Here is Amandas response on facebook,. sry didn't post link or facebook picture.

For those we promised the back story to take as a learning experience. He had a radio, sweater and fire starter kit, however, because the weather was so warm and the other 2 didn’t have radios (not thinking someone else on the hill may still have been able to hear). these are 3 items he chose to leave behind at the truck. Which many of us can honestly say we have also done on more than one occasion. Heading out for a blue bird day can quickly go wrong. My family got us an in reach for Christmas to help prevent this from happening again. In addition, we have received multiple calls from family and friends who immediately ordered an in-reach as well after seeing how traumatic this has been. To those who made comments about taking the course and having the equipment...course was taken, equipment had...please think twice before making those comments as they simply aren’t helpful...**** still happens. Please only positive comments. We posted this for all others to learn from and as a reminder THIS CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE. Even experienced riders. Seriously thank you to our sledding community who offered their homes and all available resources. We received a Christmas miracle and have so much love for all of you.
