It would only be fair if the caribou would choose to self-isolate, and then we could open the caribou closures early.

More so places like dixon because weigile is done for the season. But ya them invisible caribou can’t beat it too.

This is a tough situation but VARDA will continue to provide accurate info to our membership through our email program and website updates.

We updated our members last week that the Dixon was open as of Friday. CMH has also stopped operations so Westridge is also opened up in the back.

Dave Henry, Small River etc are all still closed. We are in a tough spot as we will continue to provide accurate information to our members, but we do not want to promote travel or to been seen as promoting travel. We will continue to provide accurate and update info to our membership.

When they close the borders like NWT and MB did that will be about it for AB guys going to BC. Truck driver out here at work from the NWT can't even go home for his 2 weeks off because he has to quarantine at the border for two weeks before he can proceed home. Guessing it would be the same for sledders to re-enter after a weekend of sledding in BC if the AB border closed and required mandatory quarantine on re-entry.

Looks like they just closed the Provincial Parks, that will slow down the sledders heading too bc who think there invincible .....Stay Home!

We are in difficult times right now and we wish everyone well. Valemount is a small town with limited health resources. We all love Valemount and we appreciate your love and interest in our community, but it is time for best practices as described by our health authorities.

VARDA will not provide a service that promotes travel to our community or recreation in mountainous terrain in these times. We are asking that everyone please stay home.

Both BC and Alberta have declared a state of emergency. Our health authorities, as well as our Prime Minister, are urging people to stay home and reduce any activities that may pose a risk to you and a possible burden on our healthcare system.

We are asking EVERYONE to do your part to stop the spread. Stay at home, and carefully follow the advice of our health authorities.

The more we do today, the sooner we can all play together again.

Thank you Curtis for all you have done for Valemount and the sledding industry in your community. We had a fun year that was cut short but enjoyed every ride this season. Seen you on the hills many times, you always stop in and say Hi, not sure how you hone into my sled every time, like you got a beacon or gps spot hidden or you have an eagles eye.

my season was less also so guess we will have to start early next season and make up for this season
