New snow is forecasted to fall and we can use it. The common areas have been well used, but the goods are still out there for those who venture a short distance off the beaten path. This isnt a broken record, its just the way it is. We have had a great couple days in Allan with the Avalanche Canada crew.

We are still down a groomer, but we are moving the machines between areas as needed and the trails have been buttery lately with the perfect grooming weather.

Keep snow dancing.

We were some of the last off the hill at Allen today. Was blowing snow for most of the day.
Puking big wet fluffs on the trail down

The area was well used but found lots in the trees and where the wind blows the snow.

We rode in the area a few days this week.

Stayed at Summit River Lodge. Terry and his staff took great care of us - hospitality was top notch. Food was great. Really enjoyed our stay.

Conditions left us with alot to be desired. We actually left for home a day early. We rode both Allan and Clemina and aren't overly experienced in the area, but had a heck of a time trying to find much that wasn't beat, either in the main areas or down in teh trees. Snow hardness is similar to rigid styrofoam and to say it's tracked out is an understatement. You could get around quite easily pretty much anywhere on a short track machine.

Trails were fantastic. Club has done a great job grooming. Trails are setup really well, especially in Clemina. Only real beef is the lack of wood in the Clemina cabin - there is none.

Nice area, wish we were a week earlier, but those are the risks you take when you are booking vacation a little ways out.

Did you hire a guide? That's the best way to "find" snow when the going gets tough, especially in a new area.

There was never a full reload forcasted. Supposed to snow 2-4" in the valley tomorrow, so that could mean 5-8'' at 6000' feet or w/e. I'm headed up mid week too. My expectations aren't real high but I neeeed to get out. I've got the Saskatchewan winter blues. Looking forward to retirement in 30 years or so.

We rode Friday at Clemina. The trial was awesome and nice and wide. Hit morning glory and into the start of lakeview. Not much new snow in a bit but as the day went on the snow was coming. That day we found several areas with 1 to 1-1/2 feet, this was in the trees

Saturday I didn’t ride as I was setting up the hall for mountain mania. Which I believe was a great event. Thanks to everyone that attended

Sunday we rode Clemina again, blue sky’s with great temperatures make for a great day. We hit the back of lakeview (the wall) and had 1 1/2 to 2’ in there then to Bauer’s with 1 to 1 1/2’. Main areas had several tracks, just need to look a bit and didn’t have to look hard either to find the snow.

Hats off to the groomer this is the best I’ve seen this trail. Very wide as well.

Thanks for busting you ass Ron to make it such a great evening! Sure appreciate it and I’m pretty impressed that everyone bid the auction items up and I think that it will be a sizeable donation to VARDA. Well done Mr Snow and Mud!

Yes I concur, well done on the event, kudo’s to all the folks who put it all together, was a great night, won a few items on the auction, well worth the donation and for a good means as well, thanks S&M crew and Varda, our crew had an enjoyable evening. Made for a few swollen heads and a long trip back home.....see ya all in a few weeks.

The week ahead is quite the mix bag when looking at the forecast. First it was a blend of snow and sun and now, dry blue bird weather seems to be on the way for a few days beginning around Thursday. We have not received any fresh snow worth talking about for some time.

The common areas have been well used, and I’m sure the term “tracked out” may get thrown around, but the goods are still out there for those who venture off the beaten path and if that’s not your thing, who doesn’t love being up in the mountains on blue bird days? Use the beautiful weather ahead to try something different, cover some new country, turn left where you usually turn right, and you never know what is waiting for you around the corner.

We are still down a groomer, but we are moving the machines between areas as needed and the trails have been buttery lately with the perfect grooming weather.

Ride safe

Eating some crow after yesterdays update......but ill gladly be wrong if this is the cause...

The week ahead is quite the mix bag when looking at the forecast, but we will take a bit of both the sun and the snow! 15-30cms of snow has fallen during the last little storm cycle and this gave the areas a little bit of a reload. The groomers are back in full force and the trails have been buttery lately with the perfect grooming weather.

Pics from Chappell Creek today.
