i have 05 660,question,should the belt on the primary be sitting right on the bottom of the shieves,mine is sitting about 1/4 of the way up the shieves,mabey a shimm problem?it seems like the belt is to long,but it isnt,got a new one anyway.

It should be sitting up from the primary shaft or it would just spin because there wouldn't be any pressure on it. It should not be touching the primary shaft and it should be sitting about even with the secondary sheave with a new belt IIRC.

You can also measure the belt to the new one.

The belt should be tight on the sheaves at all times, as the primary doesn't do the actual engagement. There's a centrifugal wet clutch in behind the primary that does that.
