Red line turbo kits

Anyone know anything about them ? Just tjought id ask before ordering something different thwy look like a clean install on the Axys but dont know much about them

also interested to see who has experience with this kit, I want to put one on my pro next year. I've talked to the folks at cycle works about them and they say they are an awesome kit. For me its either Redline or the MtnTek Pump gas kit

Ya I havent rode mine much yet but so far very happy with it. The one downside on the pro models is that you have to drill a 3'' hole into your hood because it has a snorkel style air intake. And any turbo kit you are way better off to run AV gas as it isnt much more then the price of premium!

I've seen the redline guys (Dave) around a lot and they do a ton of testing, Im pretty sure they put more time and money into R&D then most others, kits seem to run really good too a lot of their kits in sicamous, with any turbo kit tho 50/50 av gas is a must, seems engines last upwards of 5000km with 100ll those who refuse to run anything other then pump gas don't do nearly as well ,I've bought products from redline and their pretty good to deal with.

I rode there ax 163 this last weekend, it blew my mind how clean and quick spool it was.. like a stocker that never stoped pulling, after that my impulse on the doo was lame in that compartment.. ran perfect all day, you can tell he takes sled tuning to a entire different league, pefectionist is the best way to describe..

be my first choice for a poo and hope to get my leg over his doo soon as well great job redline

It sounds like the axys really likes boost. Talked to a friend the other day that put a silber on his axys and his review is the same as the one above........says its honestly like stock throttle response with WAY more up top. Not sure if I would buy one still, but sounds like the silbers have come a long way

Dave knows soooooo much about the mapping it's insane - he''s built crotch rockets that have been on the podiums for years - his new box has an adjustable knob on it so you van keep your exhaust O2 gauge @ 12.2 and just ripping all day - I was in his shop a month ago and seen his 850 kit 1st hand - they are very meticulate and they are doing things that nobody else is doing - and talking to him about future kits that he's planning on building - hands down he is by far the guy to go with

Is there a downside to no intercooler with these kits?

The fit and finish is very clean, and I've read his electronics are second to none. I wish pro climb guys would speak up cause I'm wanting bolt a kit on my m8

Don't know much about pro climbs, but would not think it should be to much different over Poo/doo.. Redline/ impulse/ aero I know spent countless hrs working on charge temps and never felt the need of installing coolers, my understanding for sled two stroke application it just not that big a concern like four strokes.. Impulse has taken there kits to 12 lbs sucessfully and had no det problems.. Says something

Talk to the fellas at mountains edge in Sundre, they have a Proclimb with a redline kit on it, i know a few guys that have taken it for a rip and I guess it just flat out rips. I've also stopped by Dave's Redline shop and wow is the best word to describe it, by far the cleanest install on all of the big 3 800's / 850 and like others said, his ECM running is at a whole new level. All of his pieces are built and machined specifically for him, no middle man, can't go wrong with spending local.

It looked pretty sweet on the proclimb, they were installing a few Friday and I grabbed a picture, pretty nice..

Yes a few down sides to non intercooled but Redline is coming out with intercooling I have been told. Non intercooled is warmer IAT's warmer air means leass dense so less hp. Also non intercooled is less consistent and over longer pulls temps will climb. As you turn the boost up charge temps also increase. Also for comparision a redline or slober non intercooled kit at 8psi requires a 50:50 mix. My mtntk at the same boost level still pump gas 1500k no detonation so same hp or more because of cooler charge. I know Dave has worked with the kits to work on IAT's best as possible with non intercooled but they are running the same KPA turbos (not a high quality turbo) as lots of other cheeper turbo kits. For the same price as a non intercooled Redline kit i got a mtntk kit with water to air (also sled runs cooler then any other sled on the trail) and a BW efr turbo and flash tuning(calculations from a ecu vs corrections) vs a box. The red line box is deffently one of the best on the market and quality and fit and fishinish look great on them. On my XM where i know i wouod have to run better fuel i would deffently consider a redline kit .

Like you said at low boost there (8lbs or less) there really isn't much of a need for an intercooler as the heat of compression just isn't that big of a factor.

It's deffently not a big factor at 8psi most 2 stroke kits will produce roughtly 6-8hp per # of boost. The big difference with the w2a is consistency and that at 8# you can run pump where non interested IAT's are up enough that you need a 50:50 mix. Nothing wrong with runnjng some Av lots of ppl do it (don't get off topic i know av and mixes can cause a debate) but the nice part of pump gas is i ride alot. On my stock xm or my turbo axys i will burn my tank, my can and sometimes a buddies can. With my mtntk kit i can dump in a buddies straigh pump and keep riding at tue same boost level.

Never seen anything great come out of the intercooler kits other than lag.. Been out with them all low bossy kits .can't see Dave going that way unless big boost, but he has no intentions of doing that last we spoke, 8 lbs is pretty decent
