I call bull**** on that intercooled does not cause lag. My w2a has bettter throttwl response and faster track speed then stock. Water to air it makes power as fast or faster then non intercooled. Cool IAT's and running consistent temps makes makes more power by haveing a denser cooler charger. If your talking about turbo lag I'm going to say you haven't actually ridden many tirbo sleds because a turbo makes boost just above clutch engaugement. If you have a turbo setup that has lag then ot more likely the fuel mapping not the turbo. I talked to Dave before i bought my kit nice guy seems egar to help and impress. The pitch he tryied to spin to me was he uses proper turbo sizing and good turbos and gets away with no intercooler. 1 he's using kpa turbos which are not top quality turbos by any means same cheep turbos as slober and other cheep turbo kits use. 2 he is using the same size as other companies. 3 the bullet wheel pitch can go both ways yes initial spool can be faster with a lighter wheel but riding trees on/off throttle your waste gate/recurculating valve is what really helps keep the wheel spining a slightly heavier wheel has more rotating mass and can continue to spin faster. if you look at the setup of the wg it's an internal gate and pipe is welded right to the down pipe. A wg pipe should enter at a 45 so not to cut off exhaust flow his down pupes deffenly have to effect flow a little the way they are welded on. The fact i can run straight pump gas at a higher boost level is enough alone to show that IAT's are lower with a intercooler. Imo the redline kit is a good kit but eatjer should be 800-1000 dollars cheeper or offered with a better turbo. The boosit kit has a garrett 2860rs in the elevation conmensation kit for about the same price, BD has a garrett in the side kit, mtntk has a BW efr (probably the best internally gated turbos on the market) and mtntk has better mapping and w2a at the same price.

You can put in whatever turbo you want at redline Garret, kpa and RPM.

my observation, lag is very apparent on BD, at least the 2 different sleds I tried this winter with BD turbos, both intercooled, and both staggered where id want it to ramp up a little harder. That being said, when the flipper was stabbed I felt like a super hero. Lots and lots of good feedback from boost it, but I believe ill be going the redline route, my dealer seems to sponsor/push for Dave. both BI or Redline are down the road from me, ill be buying local one way or another.

I have rode a few BD and boost it that the throttle response wasn't the best for sure. But it isn't "turbo lag" it's fuel mapping the bd was easy to fix a few adjustmants to the fuel map make a big difference. I think people miss use the term "turbo lag" and think if it doesn't instant make 8# rip your arms off or if any hesitation is felt it's lag. Usually that's not lag but in the map and an easy fix. Sometimes a turbo setup will be given to the customer a little on the rich side because rich is safe. This is one of tue major reason i went with mtntk with the flash tune you don't get any bog, hesitation or flat spots. They use a map sensor and stock ecu so fuel calculation are made to mat tps and map, rpm, ect and so on. With a fuel box like redline, boost it or bd your piggy backing and making corrections basically. You are controling a set of seccondary injectors or increasing the dury cycle of injectors. I have yet to run anytjing that was as clean as the mtntk throttle response and have been on almost evey kit. Look at the automotive industry no one uses a piggy back setup and hasn't for years. Hp tuners with stock ecu or standalone setups are by far tue best for any boost application.

Basic kit comes with kpa. If you upgrade to a garrett or what ever your going to increase price so spend more and still have no w2a.
Still cheaper than Boost-IT to upgrade to the Garrett the last time I priced kits.

And the intercooler will still cost yeah.

But hey if you feel you need the intercooler get it, it's all personal preference and $$$.

I personally don't feel the urge to sink another 2-3k on a intercooler, I would rather put those funds into upgrading machines sooner.

Been running impulse kit on the Etec last two years and it's been growing on me, some lag of the start but nothing I felt bad.. That is till I drove Daves turboed axys.. I just about sh!t how quick that sled spooled in comparison to the Etec, it just added to the fun factor instantly and even pointing down hill in snow over the hood, it still was stock quick to spool..

Discussing with others and Dave, if we were only able to remove fuel from stock ecm at low rpm, than I could see intercoolers haveing better success for tuning, the intercooler kits I drove gave me a feel of laziness to spool probably from low end over fueling.... Silber just broke the doo 850 ecm and watching the vids, it sounds very crisp, but was not cheap to crack

The mtntk uses a bullydog gt it runs cleaner then stock bottem end. The problem with alot of piggly back boxes is they can't pull enough fuel in the bottem. The redline kit is a 4 injector setup but their box only controles the seccondary injectors so in a situation like that yes it could be an issue. The 800 etec has allways been slower to spool then a Axys its hard to compair the too. I rode the to Axys back to back pulled the same lines and my mtntk kit make 8# almost a full 500 rmp faster then a BD kit but a few adjustments to the BD fuel box made that one spool 200 or more rpms faster

Brent linderman cuts heads for turbo etec it's a good option better low end and don't get detonation i believe he has a pump gas option too.

Ya I havent rode mine much yet but so far very happy with it. The one downside on the pro models is that you have to drill a 3'' hole into your hood because it has a snorkel style air intake. And any turbo kit you are way better off to run AV gas as it isnt much more then the price of premium!

Hey,

Getting a kit installed on my pro. do you have anything else done to your sled performance wise? any issues?

Thanks.

My sled was stock with about 600kms on it before the turbo install. Ive put about 400km on now and the thing hauls ass! Only have two minor issues with it so far. One being the Turbosmart boost tee fitting, its a total piece of crap it leaks and causes your sled to overboost big time, I was hitting 12psi! Now that I have got rid of that fitting the sled runs at a steady 6-7psi and adjustment could just be made with the wastegate. The idea of the Turbosmart boost fitting is great but in the real world it sucks. The other issue is the AFR sensor is mounted too close to the Turbo so it gets to hot and they burn out after a few rides. I have a heat sink on order from Innovate which they claim will help keep the sensor cooler and prevent it from burning out so quickly. I have heard that the led in AV gas is hard on those O2 sensors, but hopefully the heat sink will get more life out of them, because at 100 bucks a sensor they aren't cheap! Overall awesome kit, excellent customer service and its nice to support local guys doing it hear in Alberta.

there is a ball and spring in the boost tee, and they freeze , remove them and the boost tee will work perfect

Isn't the whole point of the boost tee to delay the wastegate from seeing boost? If you remove the ball and spring you will just be running wastegate pressure.
