Alberta Environment Sustainable Resource Department (AESRD) has approved the opening of the Ministik Gates for 10:00am on Saturday December 8, 2018
As AESRD is unable to get out and open the gates they have authorized TCSC to unlock the gates on Saturday morning.
TCSC trail Maintenance crew will be out opening the access gates on Saturday morning but be patient as it will take us a while to unlock all the gates but they will be open by 12:00 noon
Parking lot #33 north on TWP 510 will not be open until the end of Saturday night as the County of Strathcona refuses to plow out their county parking lot so TCSC has to use the BR180 snow cat to clear this parking lot Saturday afternoon after we open all the gates..
The TCSC Trail Maintenance crews have cleared all the Ministik Snowmobile Trails in November from fallen trees and obstacles on the trails but some new trees can blow down over night so use caution even ridingthe trails.
CAUTIONS:::
Be very carful of the lake ice and ponds as we have had a mild fall and not sure of the thickness of all the ice surfaces. Please ride around the shorelines instead of across the middle of the lakes. Also do not group up on the ice, instead gather on the shore or solid groundfor now. Refer to the Ice Card attached for safe ice thickness.
Ministik is a natural wilderness and comes with wilderness dangers off the TCSC trails, such as large rock, ice heaves, old fences, and natural hazards so please ride with care
Ride safe and see you Sunday Dec 9 for the SANTA’s TOY RIDE.
