From LeAnn:

Hi Everyone

Hope everyone had a great summer, but the coolness is in the air and it is time to get those sleds polished up.

In July we picked up our club's enlcosed trailer--it is a very wonderful trailer and is going to be so good for the club..
We are also getting two more highways signs on HWY16 west bound...

I have more very exciting news.. A couple of months ago I submitted new expansion application to the NTC(National Trails Coalition)-ie.
the Federal is giving $25 million to recreation (ie.and stimulating the economy with job creation) in Canada.
We were chosen as one of the clubs to receive funding. We are also receiving funding from the provincial government... This is huge for us and since I got the official word-- I have not had a day that hasn't involved countless hours to get this all up and running, but it is going to be worth it.

We are looking at close to 20 km of expansion. My goal is to be the first club to have everything completed. One of the mandates is to get all the work done ASAP--which is what we have been doing. There are alot of protocals to follow in order to make this happen. As of today are also the first to be almost ready for the second funding cheque.

We are not having a meeting this month, however I am going to be looking for trail workers to help get posts in the ground and signs up..
I cannot organize this yet, but it will be in the next two to three weeks. We have a gentleman from the Federal Gov. flying in the first week of October so hopefully we can have alot of the work completed..

More good news--BRP is having 2nd year of the Million Dollar Support Program. This means we can receive $10.00 per member once the forms are filled out and turned into a Ski-Doo dealership. Remember it does not matter what type of sled you ride. We can receive up to $1500 so
we need everyone to get their Trail Passes and turn in their forms. We really to raise funds-as running the trail system is expensive and over the last couple of years we have done a tremendous amount of work.. The funding we are receiving is not for maintenance or basic operation costs, only development.
So if you have some creative ideas on fundraisers let me know...
This week and next I will be trying to confirm our sponsorships for this season.

Reminder we are doing the ASA show again so we need Volunteers-please email if you can help out on which days and times. Oct 23,24, 25

We are looking at a Full Avalanche Course in the last week of October...

More news to follow....
