That time again, have to put tires on the wife 2006 Pontiac Torrent. Not sure what brand or type to go with. She Drives 5 miles of gravel everday. If anybody can help me out it would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Just 5 miles of gravel? No pavement, no ice? Cheap all seasons from wal-mart will do the trick for that. My wife drives from the NE end of Edmonton out to Redwater for work and we are about to mount up the winter wheels with Toyo Observe Garit KX snow/ice radials. Not cheap, but what is the value of her safety on some seriously sh!tty roads in the winter. These tires stick almost (90%) as well as Blizzaks and last better than twice as long with better deeper snow traction. She drives a Lancer wagon, so not a whole bunch different than a minivan, just smaller and sportier.

She has 5 miles of gravel then about 20 miles of highway.

I was looking at the Toyo and think that is what I am going to go with.

Wait till snow falls, and make sure you pull them once the roads are clear, they don't like summer conditions. Like most true snow/ice radials.

Nokian and Cooper both have an all season winter tire. I prefer dedicated winter tires as alberta weather can be more than all seasons can handle. But I do like the Toyo winters.
