Just wondering if any of you guys have put a larger tire on your new ram 3500's. Just bought a '12 cummins and can't stand the look of the stock 265/70 r17 on it. Was thinkin of may bfg 305/65 r17 ? What do you guys think. Thanks in advance for any input !

I will be going with 35's as soon as I can afford to do so. I havent decided if I will level it or not. Probably not going to lift it. The stock tires are way too small for the truck.

Granted my truck is old, but on my 08 3500 I am running 35" rubber. Fills the wheel wells out nicely.

I run 35 in the summer. B careful with your weight ratings. I had to hunt around a bit but mine r good for 3650# per tire. You can degrade your weight rating quite a bit if you don't watch. Not a big deal in you just drive it to the mall!

I am curious too about your mileage going down. Planning to do a programmer too, but no deletes until I either start having major issues or warranty is done.

What sort of mpg did you lose? i am wanting to move up to 285/70/17

I know with my dodge 2006 3500 srw, i moved just from 265/70/17 to 285/70/17 and i can safely say I lost 1.5mpg. Truck is all stock but for a cold air intake.
Old grey still gets 20-22mpg hand calculated with the 285's.
New grey (dodge 2011 3500 srw) has all deletes done, running stock 265's and WANT to move up to the 285's just to fill the wheel wells. But already hard pressed to get 18mpg.

I have Goodyear duratracs 275/65/R20's on my 2011 dodge 2500 their just over 34 inches in height on my 2011 2500 ram. First off my truck had to go in to get the computer flashed to calibrate the speedometer. Did notice a bit of a difference in fuel mileage too from running the bigger tires.

285 75 17's seem to fit best with 35's i found the fronts would rub at full turn 285 75's are 34" by 11.3" touch smaller than the 35's but fit real nice

got 305s on my truck. BFs wont hold enough air to keep your sensors from going off unless you over inflate.

i've always run the 295/70 17. now they have the 285/75 17 in toyos as well and are pretty much identical. the 295s are 33.5" and the 285s are 34. think i noticed recently the 285s were $20-$30 more a tire somewhere, could be wrong though. your call, but for $100 whats 1/4" more clearance gonna do?
