thanks....... That's what i thought. With my '06 megacab 3500 4x4 cummins i can get 1100km to a tank pushing hard, no load..........

I know of a few 6.7's gettin' great power and mileage too with simple chip tunes.......

What size trailer you pull?

I WAS pulling a 30' fiver. Barley know it was back there and you had to go up a good steep hill for that thing to down shift. I used to be a Ford guy and I can not believe how much torque the cummins has. Unreal. Anyway I sold the fiver and have motor home now but I'm going to keep running the dodge for a while yet. I have a 16' trailer with a log loader that I put on it and when that trailer is loaded with logs it weighs more than the fiver did.

Summitric, is the Mercedes tranny supposed to be coming behind the new H.O. engine ? I had read somewhere about an upgraded torque converter, but missed anything on a new trans. As for my '11 650 ft/lb unit, it still has the 68RFE.

the 6.7 in the pickups has the 68RFE or G56, the cab and chasis use a Aisan tranny. the new rumors are a 8 speed auto tranny, not sure on the manufacture

and it was my TC that failed in my stock tranny, the tranny didnt fail, so an upgraded TC with a better TCM tune, im sure thr 68 will hold up better then it has

3500 cab and chassis also runs urea, but like the 4500/5500 is completely different then the regular pickups.

yes, you are correct. you dont see many 3500 C&C around here though, out of sight out of mind kinda thing. We have a 5500, and she is a beast, stacks, H&S black maxx, Boost tube, intake horn, cold air intake.!! these pics were taken a few days ago when I loaded up our 450J to haul it from our acreage in BC to do some work on some of our land in fort Mac, tipped the scales at just over 45000 lbs. truck hauls like a dream through the mountains.

So the new cummins are 850 ft lbs torque....... My lease is up in a week. Do you think i should buy out my lease, or trade up to a new 2011 dodge megacab 4x4 diesel 650 ft lbs torque, or wait til the new 850 ft lbs torque engines are out(which are a couple months away yet):(???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

They are only 800ft lbs of torque, and are due out this fall, I'm going to wait and see how this engine works out, that new longhorn looks sweet!! and there is a rumor on a 8 speed tranny in the works.

its not a new cummins engine to make the 800FT lbs, they just played with the ECM a little. this engines biggest downfall is the small turbo. i also heard rumors of a 8 speed.

You don't get the torque output with the 5 speed, it's only 610ft lbs compared to 650. I don't know what the torque output will be with the uprated engine with the 5 speed. But when you try and spec one out online it only offers the auto tranny with the H.O engine.

I know, but I bought a 1st generation 6.7l and had LOTS of ECM updates but i've never had a CEL. I just want to see how the emissions system is going to handle the uprated engine. I'm sure it will be fine, but I'll wait. Plus there is only 58000 on my 07, i'm not really ready to trade up yet.
There are some other things that are different on the engine campared to the older 6.7l, found that out friday, was hoping there would of been a upgrade on the older engines.:(

I wonder if the manual trans will have 800 ft/lbs with the new engine, or if it will have more (like the previous gen. Rams)

BTW, I hope they don't drop the manual, I'm young and I can still shift. My next truck Would be a ram with a hand operated cog swapper.... I fall asleep in my auto.

like the current ones, the automatic will have slightly more torque....... did you know the newer dodges have manual shift buttons on the automatic shifter lever and a jake brake?

Yeah, they all got that now, even Chevy. I just don't find it as fun as a hand shaker and a 3rd pedal for my left foot to play with. :)

I'll gladly take less torque for more fun.
