Mouse proofing your trailer

It's that time of the year again and everyone is putting their trailers away into storage, what does everyone use to mouse proof their trailers from those little rodents?. I have used moth balls, left unbaited traps in the trailer, etc. I've heard some people spread bay leaves around their trailers, slivers of Irish spring soap, etc. Any suggestions out there.

Those ultrasonic things are supposed to work good if you got power.
I don't have that luxury unless I run a couple hundred feet of extension cord.

dryer lint sheets seem to work so far, x-ing fingers(eyes have been crossed for years).

Park it inside a cold storage shed which is pretty well mouse proof now a days. But before that just use to make sure nothing is leaning against the trailer anywhere and just keep a couple traps and some moth balls around the wheels. Even longer grass leaning against the bumper or whatnot is no good. Have a couple cats in the yard that keep the mice in check as well.

Tried the bounce sheets and irish spring soap they seemed to work

Except for one year a mouse got in caused a little bit of damage before he committed suicide in the antifreeze in the toilet

Now I put the little boxes of mouse poison under the trailer as well

I have alway's had great luck, with new Bounce sheet's and Lot's of them. Hopefully I'm not cursing myself. LOL
Also, you have a great smelling unit, in the spring.

plug every crack and crevice with steel wool. around the pipes and wires going thru interior walls etc as well.

you can also use the expandable spray foam around water pipes etc. Look everywhere there is a hole and fill it. Have used Bounce fabric sheets and have never had a mouse yet....touch wood!

Good i read this as i forgot to do this to my trailer...But knock on wood i havent had a mouse in it,,,

same here, in everything from my slide in camper, motorhome, and now my 5th wheel. my pop has been doing it for many years as well and he has never had a mouse problem once the suspect areas are blocked off. mice won't mess with steel wool. still waiting to hear from quadtrash as to why he believes it is poor advice....

I crawled under and filled every crack with steel wool and mono foam, then went inside and did the same. Spread about 50-100 bounce sheets and never had a problem yet, don't put moth balls inside you will smell it all summer. :beer:
