ya may not want to know, but it probably made it, just some people have a death wish. 1/4 inch poly rope can almost hold anything down for awhile. the rachet straps will likely work to get it home, but how would i know? i'm assuming if he is asking on here he is already worried.

I would think you would be fine with 2 or 3 heavy duty 3" straps provided you have a good place to anchor them to. legally your tiedowns' capacity must exceed your load weight by 2/3. the problem would be finding a spot to attach them to handle such weight.

i dont think anyone was being a douche just giving opinions....so here's my .02 as someone who had one for a while. the problem with ratchet straps is using them in a way that it attaches to the frame with out damaging the box, just tying it down to the box doesnt work. belly wrapping it you run the risk of the tie down melting on the exhaust, or cutting on something sharp. the back you can easily tie down to your hitch with no issues but the front you should have the proper belly bar, or make one out of some angle iron, pretty easy to fab up. but straps i don't recommend, they will dent your box, put strain on it and possibly twist it on the frame.....jmho strapped mine down once and was driving when the wind came up.....never strapped it again

I took it that he meant just to get it home from where he's buying it. throw the straps right over the roof of the camper and cinch 'er down

dont know that i would even do it just to get home, i like the box on my truck not being cinched with a strap......:nono: if its a long box and the tail gate closes, thats all i would do for a nice slow drive home

why are kitty riders so touchy? you post about legal ways to attach a camper, i'm sure straps are not. you give no info on what your doing, and now yer mad doing the tough guy shheeet. you are a peace of work. maybe go back to bed and get up on the right side.
