your vibration is probably being caused by the lift. rear axle pinion angle is incorrect. when you accelerate the differential twists up ward causing the angle to change. thus causing the vibration. when you decelerate it twists downward. and angle change does not cause the vibration. if you can check your angles of you diff, transmission, and shaft along with the length of your shaft and i can put it into my driveline program and let ya know what it says.

so today the truck spent the day in the shop. Drive line checks out good, everything is tight and fluids are all clean, no metal. Wheels needed some balancing, however they were unable to get thier sticky weights to stick to my aftermarket wheels so had to go back to stock wheels. In the end I have my good tires on my shitty stock rims, a vibration and $300 less in my pocket and a truck that wont start when cold (booked into dealer for another ass raping on that thursday)!! Starting to miss my dodge already. How do I go about getting you the angles? If the lift was the problem shouldn't I have the vibration at all speeds while accelerating, or could it be that these speeds and thus rotations are a critical rpm at the right angle? Could this pump rub issue I read about be the cause at all?

I just bought a 05 D-max. The other day I took it in for a oil change and I asked the mechanic if he knew of any common problems I should watch for. He said one thing he's seen a couple times is one of the u joints starting to go and causing a bit of vibration, he said if you leave it to long it will CRACK your transmission housing. I don't know if this happens often but deff not something you'd want to happen.

problem get more odd. Put truck on alxe stands and brought up to speed. No vibration at all.. applied breaks until truck could only hold 100km/h under load and still no noticable vibration.. very odd.. and i doubt the neghbors enjoyed a duramax maxed out in the drive way going nowhere! I inspected everything i could (its -25deg hereright now) and found that where the driveshaft goes into the tansfer case there is a slight sign of a leak, and there also seems to be a bit (a couple mms ) of side to side and up and down play where it goes into the transfer case. I can grab the yoke and wiggle it slightly. Rest of the truck looks brand new. Is this normal? Also, there is a bit of play in the transfer case its self between the driveshaft moving and the actual gears in the transfer case and also in the rear end hooking up. Off to dealer in the am to loose more money. Would like to know if that play in the yoke is normal. Would a bully dog econo mode tune have any effect on cold starting?
