Toyo CT VS Duratracs

Anybody have any experience with these two tires? I realize the Toyo Ct are new this year but thought maybe someone already has them. I'm looking for some winter tires for my dually I'm considering one of these two. I will have them studded as well for a complete winter tire. I'm looking for something with good traction in deep snow as well as icy roads. If there are any other suggestions fire away I want something reliable.

I like the Duratrac. Works good year round. Duratrac IMO is sipped better which should be better on ice. Will have to wait and see reviews on the Toyo as winter progresses.

I'm running studded duratracs, my dads running toyo ct not studded. Both good tires. I think the toyo will defiantly out last the duratracs. My duratracs seem to hook up better the toyo. Could be the studs though. Both trucks are dodge 3500 single wheels. Will have better judgement in time.

I put the C/T's on my truck. Studded. Only had them on for about 20km now. Will report in the future. Put some Cooper Maxx S/T on a friends truck. Not 3PWS rated, but studdable and his are studded. Called me yesterday and told me he absolutely LOVES them. I hope I can say the same for my Toyo's. Those Cooper's were seriously badass looking.

Why not go with a real winter tire? Blizzaks are available in E rating.

If you don't have a second set of tires to switch out in the summer, you'll burn the blizzaks off in no time. My duratracs with studs preformed just as well as my brothers blizzaks, IMO. Plus the toyo and duratrac have the winter symbol as well.

Well, after about 30km of driving in the chit today, I gotta say, I LOVE the studded Toyo's. They were flawless. They're a tad noisy, but don't bother me one bit. I just turn the radio up a smidge. AWESOME tires.

I looked at both these tires studded for a good winter this year and ended up getting the Muteki trail hog studded. To early to tell but they look very similar to the duratracs for considerably less $$.

Tons of trucks in the patch run duratracs year round, they are definitely a proven and respected tire. I have driven two company trucks with them and have no complaints. Excellent year round traction. I put a set of 35" duratracs (not studded) on my dodge 2500 last year, with 6 sand bags in the box I rarely slip.

I've heard Duratracs wear pretty fast in hot weather (70*+). I run studded ones on my Raptor in the winter and grip great.

My brother just put the toyo's c/t's, studded, on his truck which we're taking to revy in a couple days. i'll report back on how i think they compare to my studded duratracs. We both have 08 duramax so it will be a fair comparison as well.

Got 9000kms on my F-350 dually 285/70r17 toyo cts studded. Really good tire. Went with the ct's over the Duratracs cause I use the truck for oilfield hauling and they have the 3 ply sidewall.

Run duratracs with great wear 70,000 and still could of pushed them. Great in mud and snow. Went with trail hogs now only because they were on 12 week backorder. Great tire very similar design to duratracs

I bought a set of toyo ct 35x12.5x20 for my f350 studded them and drove to the us and back last week. I got to say they are an excellent tire and would not hesitate to recommend them. They are quieter than the toyo at 2 as well.

I drove my studded CT's through the crap in the Edson area that we got the other day. Handled like a champ. I'm happy happy.

Newbie question, the Toyo CT, can you purchase it without studs? I am looking for a daily driver AT, with monthly trips to Tahoe where the snow it... but do not want the Toyo AT2.

The CT is a normal AT tire with extra capabilities in the snow?

I don't think I would ever need studs.
