I'm going to replace my break away battery this week, and wondering if there are any recommendations. Of who to go to, or what not to buy?
I am thinking just a trailer store, or possibly Canadian Tire?
Thanks

I went to Battery World today, got an upgraded battery for 30 bucks and no core charge.

When you put it back in wire a plug on it to plug into a trickle charger ...makes life easier

I wired mine into the 12v RV batteries for the trailer. works great and never have to go under the trailer to change the batteries

it is a good idea. but i wonder if its hard on the expensive batteries? i was told that pulling the breakaway is extremely hard on the breakaway batteries because its so much power draw all at once. maybe its not true but if it is i would rather be replacing 30$ batteries than 300$ ones.

That's more so if you use it as a park brake and it drains the battery flat.

The load on the bigger trailer batteries would be minimal compared to the little 30 dollar one.

The break away should never be pulled for any reason other than if it comes unhooked. Never use as a park brake. These instructions are even printed in the install kit box.

PS. BC cops love waiting for us to leave the parking lot and stop us. They check for booze in the truck and trailer infractions. The 2 main things. The break away cable had to be mounted to the hitch and not the trailer chain.
