2008 Ford F350

I went today to check the new F350 out. Im ordering a Black one myself. With the twin turbo 6.4L and dual alternators there is not a speck of room left under the hood. The tailgate has a neat step feature..

I must admit,I dont blame you for ordering it.I really like the changes to the dash.Cant trade mine yet,just finished all the upgrades to make it go fast.I'll race ya when ya get er Ron!

Ron, looks like a really nice unit.

1. Did they add the Anti Theft Key?
2. It's still a Ford and all the fancy toys in the world won't change that!

That step feature is way cool! Trucks are way too high now days. How do I get one for my dodge? (only thing wrong with my dodge as far as I can tell, sure some ford and chevy guys will correct me though....)



I like the dash, very beefy retro look.

Why is it there is so little space between the rad and the front edge of the windsheild on a ford? I thought dodge had a short nose but you can hardly get the oil jug in there to put oil in a ford it's so short...how do they expect you to put all your aftermarket mods in there so you can keep up with the Dodge CTDs when it's that tight? D ok, that should really get the ford guys going now....bought to find out how many ford lovers on this site....)

Kidding aside, pretty cool looking truck....enjoy it.

I'll be due for a new truck around May/June. But the '07 Harley Davidson my dealer gave me to drive around the other day while my truck was in for a service sure makes it a tough decision between the '08 or an '07 Harley.

Shredder, I was condering the 08 Harley but that wont be out till mid August. I want to be in a new truck for the end of May. Theres a 9 week wait on a order. I would get the 08 there are ALOT of changes, Besides I seen 11 Black Harleys in 1 hr right after I left the dealership. WOW! I was talking with BBtoys about possibly waiting for one, but after that forgetit. I like the Chrome large grill and on the Harleys you dont see much of that. The grill will stand out much more on a black truck though, I have always had a white truck, now its time for black, Ive been warned already, I like to spend all my time at the car wash .
The truck pics I have in this thread are a demo truck they brought in, I did not get one yet.. Im in the ordering process. BUT I have always been a GM guy so its tough to change, or can we refer it to convert / go over to the other side.. The GM HD trucks are on the internet if you look, Im not to fond at all of there looks at all, the 1/2 tons look ok but I expected GM to really improve there HD truck to compete with Ford but I think they may get left behind. I want the new Ford look, a Cummins engine, an Allison Transmission and the ride of a Chevy truck but you cant get all that in one truck.
Im trying to order an all Black truck thats a King Ranch but you have to get the gold trim at the bottom so If I want the KR I would paint the bottom Crazy!! And theres only one interior color, its a Dark brown deluxe leather. I want to see one first. Im not sure If I should just get the Lariat with all the options. Too much to think about. Theres also the option of DVD navigation, thats nice and the DVD is nice with the rear screens but If you want the power moonroof you cant have the rear screens. Have to make sure I pay the 35.00 for the All-weather floor mats, Lol. And YES they have the security encoded Key, thats the first thing I looked at. The tires suck though, you should be able to order the BFG's but that's not on the options so later. The options I wont get are the rear stow and go, the rear back up sensors, they finally have a Rapid heat supplemental cab heater and a dual alternator option. One thing I did see there missing is only 1 accessory 12Volt adaptor on the dash, thats not much.. My 02 Gmc has 3.

Trucks

It's a touch decision looking for a new vehicle. When I went looking for my truck a few years ago I really struggled. There are things I liked in each brand but you can't have it all.
In this day in age we tend to change vehicles on a regular basis so if your not happy today, your not that far away from the next truck.
I get to compare the Chevy diesel (my truck) and Ford diesel (summitric's truck) on a regular basis and both are great units (don’t tell summitric I said that though)
It comes down to Band Loyalty and Features. A fair comparison is all those guys who would never own a "Doo". Features outweighed the Brand Loyalty and Doo is the Brand Leader right now.
Ron, have fun making this decisions. Expect lots of ribbing from us Chevy owners...it's not personal.
Keep us informed on your comparison.

Ordering A New Ford

Hey Ron: Did You Go Onto The Ford Website, Because You Can Custom Build A Truck On The Site, And It Gives You The Colors, Interiors, Options, Etc And Gives You A Retail Price, Then You Can Grind The Dealer For A Price(and I Would Start At Knocking About 15% Or More Off).... Its Pretty Cool To Build An Internet Truck(you Can Go To Gm And Dodge And Doo The Same). I'm Still Not Sold On The 6.4l Psddt(power Stroke Diesel Dual Turbo), And Personally I Would Wait A Year(never Buy The First Year Of A New Product -- Necessary To Work Out The First Year Bugs). Ron; I'm just the opposite on the grill. My favorite truck I've ever owned was an all black GMC. I also really liked my wife's all white Dodge Sport 4x4. I think there is only 1 Harley in G.C. and it's Burgundy. I really like the rear DVD on the '08, I'd get that for sure; but 3K for the in dash nav system. I went to Valemount in a GMC with a rear DVD, sitting in the back seat watching movies and drinking coffee on the way to go shred some pow rocks!! The encoded key is huge for sure. The floor mats in any of my vehicles never get used, I won't ever own another vehicle without a full set of Husky liners. As for the tires....I'll likely have a 6" lift and 35" tires on mine when I pick it up, so Ford can put on whatever junk they want. I will most likely end up with an '08 too.....my 6 year old son already picked out a green '08 King Ranch as the "coolest truck ever".

We drove an F350 last year as an RV vehicle, no regret, it is a beast in the mountains, miserably for 5 weeks only.
You must be proud.

My family just bought a two tone, dark blue and brown 2008 Ford F150 Lariat.
It's a beatuy of a truck, and pulling sled behind you dont even notice them!
Ford seems to be making the best new trucks on the market right now.

Here is some pics today of a F450 I looked at, The interior color I dont like, its RED and tan. I decided to Order a F350 Lariat Black with the grey leather interior. The Harleys will be more than the King ranches by about 4K thats nuts.

Good choice on the interior,that red looks bad.I still cant get used to the new rounder look.The little hubcaps that go on the rims(not shown) look cheap too.Going to stick with my 03 for a while yet.Lots of new options that are real cool though!Looks like we got another guy in a ford,now all you gotta doo is buy a Cat LOL! LMAO!

Nice Toy Ron, I'm definately not liking the new ford front ends. Good thing I'm not in the market for a new truck yet. I've driven pretty much all fords since I started driving at 14, with the exception of 2 vehicles. Its tough to break that habit.

I think it would look pretty narly with some bigger tires on it. That front end is pretty big looking and would go along nice with some bigger boots. I don't like the red leather either. It's not your gramma's truck.

Not trying to push dodge on anyone, but check this out, the truck on the left has oversize tires (yes, left). Can you imagine driving the one on the right every day?

That is a big truck.... Looks good. I like the front end. Don't care for the red leather. I am surprised ford is having Financial troubles. In alberta they sell a tone of trucks. I guess alberta can't support the whole company. Are you getting a dually ron? You will have to post some pictures when you get your truck.

Just had my first problem with my '04 yesterday. On the way home from Grande Praire I felt my truck suddenly lose power while passing, then about 5kms farther she just shut 'er down and coasted to a stop. There I sat with the wife and kids for 2 hours. My bro-in-law came and picked us up, and the tow truck took my truck back to G.P. Thankfully I have bumper to bumper warranty to 150,000 kms, including roadside. Hopefully it won't be in the shop for too long.
