Hi Ron, That looks like a nice truck! I have an 05 F350 . Always drove Chevy's before that. Had a Duramax and liked it but didn't like the fact that you couldn't disengage the engine braking function on that model or on the 05 when I was shopping for a new one so switched to the Ford. Found the 6.0 diesel a bit lazy so bought a chip reprogramer and cured that. The only bitch I have about the truck otherwise is that the front bumper started showing rust pits about three months after I bought it and neither the dealership or Ford will do anything about it . I told them they are going to have a really hard time selling me another Ford. Sure hope they have that problem fixed up!!

Ford Problems

HEY SHREDDER, KEEP US UPDATED ON WHAT THEY FOUND. ALMOST SOUNDS LIKE THE TURBO HOSE POPPED OFF, OR THE HIGH PRESSURE OIL PUMP FAILED (IF IT IS, IT'S PROBABLY THE SAME PLUG ON THE SIDE OF THE PUMP THAT POPPED OUT??) ... NOW I'M CURIOUS!!!

Finally after back and forth ordering I placed my order and recieved my VIN# today, Production date to start the week of June 11-15, I have put the locate on Blue oval forums to find more info but hopefully I can be driving in time for the Big Valley Jamboree..

Not worried!! Every vehicle has it problems when it first comes out. That's why I didn't rush out and get one right away. Mine isn't even being made to the week of June 11 - 15, Thats all they tell me now. How long does it take to make? Who knows, but Im sure they will have the glitches out by then.

Hmm.. Gm Duramax Injector issues.. I had one and had them changed
Dodge fuel pump issues.. I know a few that had issues
Ford 6L.. Was a bomb from the start but I know alot that have them and love them, bbtoys...

Actually Summitric you should click on this link, there is a few for your new truck and im sure most vehicles out there

These automobiles there making today have too many parts to go wrong one can be good one can be bad..

Im suprised, once they have all the parts in to build the truck its built from frame to completed in 24 hrs.. Im now watching the process on the blue oval..

Hi Ron, I ordered an '08 F350 dually on March 15 and STILL have not recieved it, due to the CN strike they are way behind on deliveries and still they can't tell me when it will arrive.
Also I see talk about the 6.0 L diesels, I currently own an '04 F350, nothin' but problems for the first 20,000 km, needed a new tranny at 11,000, needed a new steering dampner and its gone again will fix soon, went in about 6 times for reprogramming and I hear major grinding in the hubs when 4x4 engaged, my buddy says its common to rebuild the hubs in these fords, problem is, he says its a thousand bucks a side, anyways the 6.0 L are junk but the new 6.4 L are awesome. I know a ford a service manager who says these new trucks will make the service department very slow, oh well, they can just keep fixing the 6.0L,lol.

Has the truck been produced yet. You can go on blue oval and find all the following info:

My vehicle has shipped, now what can I do?

Once your vehicle gets to Ship Date you can call VOPC (1-800-962-3746) to get a Railcar Number (The bottom of your window sticker says "Method of Transp," convoy mean railcar). You must speak to an Analyst to get the railcar number. They may ask you for the following information:

1. Your Dealer Code: Found on your order sheet

2. Your Name: Use your salespersons First and Last name

3. VIN or Order #: (I chose VIN so I don't know what they ask for with the order #)
For VIN: They ask for the first 2 digits (Mustangs are 1Z) and the last 8.

-THEN-

With a Railcar#, we can track your vehicle through several rail systems to let you know when to clean the garage. It is also helpful if you think your dealer may sell your vehicle out from under you, as we have all witnessed here. Information just seems to help keep them honest...

Truck Productions

I Went On A Tour Of The Ford Truck Manufacturing Facility Many Years Ago...... All I Can Say Is Wow!!! It Is A Huge Facility And All Done On Tracks And Rails. We Were On A Small Wheeled Train Touring The Facility In Every Facet Of A "build". Very Interesting Operation And Very Little Actual "hands On" Building -- Mostly Robotic Welders And Fitters. Will Go Back Again Some Day, And Take My Kids.
Side Note To 6.4l Owners..... Just To Change A Fan Belt Is About A 2.5 Hour Job. Just Keep That In Mind....................lol

Every new vehicle comes with its quirky littly problems (+ big ones too). It's always good when the manufacturer steps up and addresses a problem in with extra warranty like Chev did with the injectors. Such is life. Ron, your gonna love the new truck. can't wait to see it.

Ron, just providing an update on how long you MIGHT have to wait for your new truck. Ordered March 15, shipped May 30th, arrival June 11-15, ALMOST 3 months, hope yours does not take that long.

Did you go on Blue Oval Forums (Ford Forums, Ford Edge Forums, Ford Mustang Forums, Ford Fusion Forums, 2007 Shelby GT500 Forums, Ford Employee Forums) and do a post for your production here's what I have so far to date,

Serialize Date: 5/17/2007
Segment Date: 5/17/2007
Sequence Date: 5/29/2007
Blend Date:
Produced Date:
Gate Release Date:
Ship Date:
Arrival Date:
Sold Date:

Blend date should be later this week then I will get a PDF of the window sticker, once the Blend date is done its about 4 days and its produced and then it goes out the Gate unless there is a problem. Has it left the fatory, SHIP Date... CN had a strike and there backed up a little but sometimes people didn't put in the order. Put a post on the site and see where it is if its shipped it will say. Sometimes the dealer is giving you a line of bull and this way you will know. I do.

Thats my order and answers, I watch it daily as it can change today or tommorow. You never know

I ordered my '08 on April 17th; and it arrived in Hinton last Friday.

Unfortunatly my new wheels won't be in for another week.

So they are doing the lift, running boards, etc this week, and then the tires and wheels next week. Hopefully by mid next week I'll have it. :beep:

I went to blue oval, but i see u have to sign up, the more people i give my email address to the more spam seems to appear, so Im always cautious on which sites to join, My dealer did say it was shipped May 30th so i guess Ill just have to go on that. Interested on how the Hinton person got his in two months?? Ill have to quiz my salesman on that one.

Give me your Vin# I can put it on there under my name and I will find out more for you. Also, You say you are getting more spam from more sites you sign on you say. I guess it may matter on the site owner, I wouldnt even think of giving out the users emails or anything to anyone, and I get alot of emails myself since I started this site but the most are from search engines.

Got my window sticker today from the Blue oval forums that means its being made next week SWEET!!!

Blend Date: The date that MP&L determines when the order will be built within the assigned day.
When they figure the specific order that vehicles will be built. This depends on options and line constraints.

Produced Date: The date that VO finished assembling the vehicle
Your unit has been built!

Gate Release Date: The date that VO transfers the vehicle to Transportation Carriers for shipping
Your unit has left the building, and is in the hands of the shipper (rail or truck)

Ship Date: The date the vehicle left the Assembly Plant
Your unit has left the load site, and is on it's way to the dealer
