have had the cross trax 2 piece ramp for a couple years. not had to set up by yourself. 2 piece is nice because it is lighter when taking the ramp out of deck and storing when you want more box space/ not having ramp rattle around when not hauling machines.

For those of you with Cross Trax decks, what do you think of the 2 piece ramp systtem? Is it a big deal to assemble it?

I have a crosstrax deck as well. I like it because its fully adjustable, one guy can remove or install it and the 2 piece ramp is easy to assemble and place on the deck with one guy. I do it quite often actually.

It is held down by turn buckles no issues, I do check them every trip.

I have a sky-hi 8x8 w/1' beavertail on my 99 dodge 3500. It's turnbuckled to the box tie downs but going to switch it and use the camper tie downs. Had to have a 3' ramp extension built as even with the beavertail the 8' ramp wasn't cutting it.

JETCRAFT deck. It is 15 years old and has been in a few trucks. Have always bolted thru and the backer plate has varied to what ever would fit. It's hauled sleds and quads over some roads that were nasty enough to crack the ch!t out of truck boxes.
Probably one of the more exspensive decks out there, but you get what you pay for.

I've got a Full Lotus deck that's going into its 3rd year that I'm using on a '06 GMC Sierra 2500HD CCSB. I have it bolted through the box with 2" X 6" pieces of flat iron situated sideways under the box floor ribs. I have no complains about the deck. They're a bit more pricey than many of them on the market, but this one came with Superclamps, Superglides on the ramp, 11' telescopic ramp and composite decking. Would definitely buy again.

I was considering a Full Lotus deck too, but I am not sure I like how the back leg runs across the box. It proabably makes sense for distributing the weight across the fram rails, but I think it would make slidding things in and out of the bed a real pain.

I too have a cross-trax deck going on 3 years, loading and unloading the ramp is relatively easy for one person. The extension is nice to have for the shortbox cause I can take it off and not have the overhang when not hauling sleds. No cracked welds just the plywood is starting to look bad and the rivets are pulling out on the slideouts, again an easy fix. It stays in all year round minus the ramp if not hauling the quad. Had a STF previously, awesome deck just was tired of people walking into the overhang, myself included and wasn't able to haul trailer with it in.

Hello

You are correct in the design behind the legs, it is for distributing the weight across the frame rails of the box, so it doesn't pound out your box corners.

In regards to it being a pain to slide things in and out of the box, there are a couple options, you can go with our ATV/snowmobile ramp option which comes with a side sliding tray. You can go with our standard 11' ramp and have a full size sliding tray under the ramp, or if you want a very inexpensive way you can mount a piece of plywood to the top of the legs. Also with the adjustability of our leg system you can bring the legs right to the end of your box so that whatever you are putting in your box can simply be lifted easily over the 2" leg. So there are many ways around it if this is an issue. The most important factor in our design was to ensure proper weight distribution over the entire bed of the truck.

We find that because it is only 2" it really isn't an issue, and in fact we put our legs as far back as we can using the legs to stop our gas can's, oil, boots etc... from sliding to the front of the box.

Hopefully that gives you some options to consider.

Thanks

I have a classic marathon 7 footer. I would love to have the extension for it but i cannot find one. Probably going to have to fab one up. I wonder if it would be possible to modify another brand of decks extension to fit a marathon...

There was a thread on here from a couple weeks ago where a guy had crosstrax build him an extension for his marathon.

On mine, it was held on with wingnuts. Took it off and it's still sitting in the corner of the garage. It's only necessary when you're turnbuckling it down and not bolting through the bed.

These new legs are not removable like last years, however last years was up over 4" off the floor of the truck, this year we are only 2" to clear over.

Thanks

I dont want to spend the money on an extension, but was thinking about making a support that clipped on to the rear bar after I load the sled.

Load the sled, kick the rear end to the middle, clip on the support and move the sled back over to it. Anyone ever done this?
