Ok so my buddy just bought a holiday trailer, its around 34' and a toy hauler. Anyways he was just wondering on filling it with water, for example we are heading out to nordegg area this weekend and was wondering if we should fill it with water at home or find somewhere around rockey to fill it up to lighten the load and maybe save a bit on fuel. And I think the trailer will pull a little nicer without the extra 700 lbs. Its a 86 gallon tank.

Water is 10lbs/gallon, I usually fill my tanks at home cause then I know what I got,.The difference in mileage would be hardly noticeable. IMO

I have a 40 gallon tank plus I carry 15 gallons in Jugs to boot. I have a 22 foot nash 4 season that weighs 5400 dry, no water , no gas no battery. I probably weigh out at 6400 when full so if I lose the water I am maybe at 5900 not a huge difference. You don't have to fill the tank full. You do have to be careful about where you are filling.

My water tank is also full at all times. I just buy lite beer in 6 packs to save weight ;) I'm good to go as soon as I pull out of the driveway, but that's how we roll. If you decide to fill in Rocky, it's on the west end of town and the museum is filled with local history  There is a sani dump and water fill.
