Hey there guys, I got a new trailer this year from Nash and its awesome, all insulated walls and roof too. They said they dont insulate the floor because as your sleds melt it wont dry properly and will cause mould. Every trailer manufacturer has different ideas on this. My old trailer was spray foamed and the I notice the difference with this new trailer. Any ideas on this, and I live in Peace River AB. who around me would do a good job spraying the floor? Thanx guys. Shad

I think NASH is out to lunch:d If you spray foam the underside make sure you use a 2lb closed cell spray foam. it 100% repels any moisture from the road etc. It's not a bad idea to seal the top side of the deck ply too. I own a Spray Foam company, but not near Peace River. I know that there's a few around the GP area!! Good luck...

I was told on floors you want one side to "breath" ?? So if you paint or Line-X the floor you shouldn't under coat the trailer it as it might trap moisture and rot the plywood ??? I don't know if that is true or not ????

Is it a good idea to paint the new floors (plywoods) that are moisture resistant ?? I like to do something to the floors so oil, gas, etc. does smell up the trailer if you spill OR stain the floor ?? And what kind of prep is needed to paint these kind of floors ???

Do you have to coat the foam to make it more "gravel" resistant ??? What other things should a guy do make the foam more durable ???

How pricey is it ??
Should a guy do it with a "do-it-yourself" kit or is the commerical stuff better ??

HRT- Do/Would you foam trailer floors ???

The foam we spray is much more dense then do-it-yourself kits. This makes it much more resistant to rocks etc. We do spray trailers, but it is sometimes logistically tough until our new shop is complete in the spring. At this time we will be offering a complete custom trailer outfitting service.

I have talked to a couple of guys who have sprayed the bottom of the trailer and they love it, plus it keeps the rocks from destroying the paint and rusting everything up. Even if you had to respray every 5 years it would be worth it IMO.

Don't mean to hijack the topic but can anyone recommend a place in the Edmonton area that can spray the bottom of my trailer. I am tired of freezing my butt off everytime it gets cold out side.
