 Has anyone had any experience with this? My wife went to take my truck out of the garage today, opens the garage door and bang the rear glass in the canopy explodes! Glass all over the driveway. It actually exploded out and not into the canopy as would happen if something hit it. The garage is heated but I don't think there is enough temp difference today to have that kind of effect. Anyone have any input or suggestions??

Better yet anyone know of a good glass shop because I know I am going to take it in the A$$ from the dealer

I seen the same thing. My old mans rear window of his truck cap exploded. It was new so the manufacture agreed to pay half. They said it was from excessive pressure as well, I guess the glue or epoxi would or wouldn't expand and contract enough? I don't know. Crystal glass in the city (Edmonton) do all of our work trucks, or maybe Raven on the yellowhead.

i took mine to a place in st.albert and had plexi type glass put in. it didnt scratch or anything and held up pretty well. and it was unbreakable. this was about 3 years ago and it cost about $100 installed. the regular glass was going to cost about$300 according to the place that used to be at the yellowhead and 156st south.

I had the same thing happen years ago heading goose hunting at 4:30 in the morning. I was just backing down the driveway and boom! outblew the glass! My poor Chesapeake Bay Retriever was riding in the back and didn't know what the hell was going on. Long story short I went the Plexi Glass route and it worked great.

Heard about the plex glass but haven't seen one. Anyone know a shop that does them? What do they look like appearance wise in comparison to the glass?

Had a simular experience with my van, hot summer day and I come out to a side window all over the ground. It was in front of the business I work at so there was no foul play.
When I got a side window from one from the wreckers they said they hear about it happeing from time to time.
It was kind of wierd.

i have seen this a few times here at the dealership
heres the story we get
its caused by hairline cracks that start at places like the handle to open the glass hatch, when they cut the hole sometimes it spiders so faintly and over time and stress all of a sudden bang they just pop and they always pop out not in. can happen anytime.
just one of those things with that kind of glass
call a few glass shops im sure it wont be too costly
