I tried to make this into a pole type thread, but no idea how. :Ccry:

anyways, i'm just curious who leaves their tailgates up vs. leaving their tailgates down with one sled in the back of their truck. pros and cons?

I leave the tailgate down unless the road is wet/sandy. Road salt/sand is hard on the paint. Buddy dropped the tailgate by himself with the sled on it and broke both cables (might have bent the gate a bit too, I was laughing too hard to remember).

I Have Always Had The Tailgate Down.... Especially With The 162" 1000rt Doo. 12' Sled, 6' Box(2006 D0dge 3500 Shortbox Megacab), With 2 Extra Feet For The Tailgate(when Down) ... You Doo The Math. Can You Say Overhang, If The Tailgate Was Up??

I haven't hauled my sled in my truck, but if I were going to, I would leave the tail gate down.

That's a great looking accessory deck sofa king much pow. How well does it work? Does it slide back and tilt for easy loading/unloading of sled?

The advantage is the deck can be off your pick up and tail gate on in less than 3 min.
Ride sled onto ramp
lift back of sled
slide into pick box
works on F150 supercrew(White pickup w/5 1/2 ft box)
to longbox (8 Ft)

OH - I have to get me one of them JD sleds! Yep - nothing like green paint.

Were you able to stuff one of those 3 cylinder Yanmar diesels in? I know that you would give up a little top end but the torque........:D
