My tranny finally started to show signs of failure after the holidays. I drove it to Victoria and into the states over Christmas, and drove on terrible roads doing 110 to 125 most of the way. I had it in 4x4 the whole time on the crappy roads and by the time I got home it was starting to slip and mishift. This truck is an 06 2500 with the Cummins and the 48re. I have done a few mods like cat delete, Afe Stage 2 intake, and a smarty. It has dynoed has high as 470 RWHP. It has about 40k on it and although I don't trash it, I do like leaving stop lights briskly. I checked into new trannys at NADP and CT performance, and even at Derrick doing a rebuild with aftermarket Torque and valve body and clutchs. Everybody was quoting 7-10 grand and a two to three week wait. I ended up going to a shop out in Winterburn called A and C transmissions. The owner really seemed to know his stuff, and they build torque converters and a bunch of billet stuff right in house. They rebuilt my tranny in 1 and half days, full billet shafts, new torque, all the clutches, new mag hytech pan, and installed guages for $6074+tax. 1 year 20k warranty and he says that tranny will stand up to almost anything. I told him I was adding a few more toys to try and get into the 600+hp range and he said it would be no problem. They had some pretty nice CNC machines, and they've been building tranny's for 30 years for race cars and performance vehicles. The owner says they build a lot of stuff for Bully Dog, used to build for NADP, and he says the CT performance truck has one of his tranny's in it(dynoed over 1100hp recently). I hope everything is a good as it sounds, service was excellent, and trucks shifts firmly and crisply. Seemed like a good place to go for an upgrade and far cheaper that the performance places.
