I want to put a deck on my short box Dodge 3/4 ton, and I'm finding that many of the decks for short boxes are only around 7 ft long. My sled is a M8 153". Will it fit on a 7 ft deck? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Yep. I got a 8 ft and my 159 just hangs off maybe 8 inches or so. I cant see y it wouldnt. As long as the motor and skis are on the deck, thats all that matters. J/K. I used to put just my sled in my dodge short box and i have 3' or more over hang with never n e problems.

Got a 8' on mine...Next one will be 9'+ on a long box. Yes, Motorman 26 the sled will ride on the deck, Just a fair bit of over hang.

I've got a marathon 8' in a long box (marathone's product go in either a long or a short box (adjustable)). Any way, my Summit X 154" is hanging way back, deck ends just a little back of mid skid, so sled is out the back a good 2' on the track. Ski tips are touching the headache rack. I don't know if I would want to put this sled on a shorter deck.

This sled is only 4" longer overall (ski-tip to rear bumper) than my 2003 Summit 144", but the track hangs a good 6" or 8" further back.

It'll fit,.... barely. It's a 162" King Cat; the sled is 132" (11'), and the deck is 89" (7' 5"), so it looks like it is hanging out 43" from the back of the deck.

Question, I see a lot of guys put there tailgates up with track shooting in the air, I leave mine down with 2 straps is this legal, I don't think I could lift up the sled and close the end gate myself, never been questioned about it??

As long at the sled is secure and doesn't obstruct the tail lights none should cause you grief.

Hey Moterman26, I have a 7'1" deck on my 2006 Dodge 3500 Mega cab and haul a polaris 159" track and a Dragon 163" track. No problems. Ive got a insert that slides into the back of my deck to hold the tracks up. It just happens to be for sale. PM me if your interested.

P.S Its a crosstraxs aluminum deck with pull out sides, LED lights, under carriage lights, headache rack.
